How much can good technique add to your range?

Hey, I'm just wondering here - can good technique add a significant amount to your vocal range? For example, let's say that a guy who hasn't taken any training and had hardly ever sung in his life one day decides to try singing, and his range without training is about G2 to Eb4. How much improvement, range-wise, should come with training and good technique, and how long would it take to get results?

Technique, range, and tone all have a very direct correlation. Improving your technique will help with both range and tone... I don't know how significantly to say, that depends on the person and how bad their current technique is, but yes, it has a significant effect.

I began vocal lessons a couple months ago, and over that time my vocal range has increased in pitch a nice amount for such a short time. My range is now higher by two full steps and lower by one.

But I would really listen to more seasoned vocalists for other information. That's just how it worked out in my case.
