Not sure if right forum or note.
I've got an idea. I want to challenge our church leaders to minister more towards people in other parts of the world, In Matthew 10:42 it talks about giving a cup of water to a child, I want to take a step further then that and either enable our own missionaries of my church or of other churches to provide a source of fresh, clean water.
Samaritans Purse has a clean water program about building wells, and filters.

How should I present this? Should I just send the missions director an email, and here is my idea... Lets go for it. Thoughts, comments?
---Pitch 1
We as a church are here to bring people in, build them up, and send them out into the world, right? I’ve got an idea, what if we the church built 100 water filters across the world. Samaritans Purse builds wells or builds something called a bio sand filter. One filter costs $100, if we could get the whole church involved we could build 100 filters for $5 per person of our church. Imagine how we the church could impact the world with the gospel by giving a never ending source of water more then just a cup of water.
“And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."” Matthew 10:42
If we could get everyone to give (in our church) $45 to something like Blood Water mission or Samaritans Purse, think 2000 people, Imagine how we could change the world, not for our sake or for the sake of some big charity, but for the sake of Christ to reach out to people.
We can quench people’s thirst with clean drinking water; but only Christ can quench their thirst for a better life.
---Pitch 2
We're a church of over 2000 members, what if we could reach out in Christ's name by giving more then just a cup of water, how about a almost never ending supply of water that can help missionaries open the doors to people in the poorest parts of the world to the Gospel. Here is my challenge; 2000 people, $5, 100 filters, 2 weeks, all to reach people with fresh water, and the hope of Jesus.
We can quench people’s thirst with clean drinking water; but only Christ can quench their thirst for a better life.
