I have to agree about Ibanez. I mean there are some I like, like a few of the Artcore guitars. But I've tried more than once to like some of the RG's but I just can't find one that I like.

Any PRS. They're just so stinkin' over priced and they're not that great IMO.

I don't think anybody will be shocked by the fact that I hate strats and most Tele's (except a select few) and I loathe short scale necks so that almost makes me hate Fender as a company. If I were to ever have a "Tele" it'd probably be a clone from some other company or a Warmoth build.

Huh? Fender is the longer of the two standard scale lengths, whereas Gibson has the shorter standard scale length.

I would like to add SG's to my list. Gutted as I am, I thought i'd really like one, but played one today which just wasn't good at all. I'm feeling P90's at the moment anyway.

I'm with you on that. I guess I haven't really come accross a particluar brand or style of guitar that I don't like with the exception of SG's. I just can't get with how they feel and play. PRS guitars are very beautiful to look at and they sound alright, but if I really wanted one I'd go with their SE series. Maybe if I win the lottery and just felt like showing off I'd buy "the real deal", but the SE's are a good value and would be a good candidate for a pickup upgrade. Epiphones can *potenetially* be good deal too, BUT they still seem to be some quality control issues. Another overrated brand is Warrior. Now granted I've only played one, it was horrid! Well that may be a strong word, but the playabiltiy was so-so; I'd be happier with a decent Les Paul. And then to add insult to injury, the neck pickup on the one I examied was loose and wobbly...not bad for a $1,600.00 used guitar! To be fair, I've only played one (and I didn't bother plugging in because of the loose pickup issue), but I don't see what they hype is all about.

I think he's saying that he doesn't like their standard scale necks and he's not a fan of their 24" scale offerings either.

Maybe he meant Gibson? Maybe we are reading it wrong.

Fender = 25.5

Gibson = 24 3/4.

Right?

Ax, get back here and straighten us out.

Fender uses the 25.5" on the Strats and Teles and 24" on almost everything else (there's a couple 24.75" scale guitars in there too).
Gibson uses 24.75" on just about everything.

I'm pretty sure what AX is saying is that he doesn't like the Strats or most Teles (the 25.5" scale guitars) and he's not a fan of the 24" scale in general (most of Fenders other guitars) which pretty much only leaves a handful of Fender models left.

Definitely...

I don't like the strats or most telecasters... ( I hate stock tele pickups)

I don't like short Scale guitars so that takes out jaguars, mustangs, music man, jazzmasters, and duo sonics...

I hate the way Cyclones look...

so that leaves the Toronado, which I love, but it's discontinued...

so, basically, I hate Fender guitars...

I'll join in on the hate...

I dislike SGs a lot. And I'm not really much a fan of any Gibson really. I mean some of the nicer Les Pauls are good, but I prefer some other guitars.

Now of course this next statement will discredit anything I just said.

I like my Ovation... The natural sound isn't great, but plugged in, it sounds awesome. I've gotten more compliments on the sound of that thing than any other guitar I've ever played.
