Miguel Cotto scored an 11th-round technical knockout of Zab Judah to retain his WBA welterweight title.

Cotto knocked Judah down with a right hand early in the 11th round, making blood flow from a welt above Judah's right eye.

Cotto then landed a straight right and followed it with a left. That pushed referee Arthur Mercante Jr. stepped in and hugged Judah, stopping the match for good 49 seconds into the 11th round.

Cotto was more active in rounds five and six, but he got caught with a lightning-quick combination from Judah with a minute left in round seven.

Judah was fighting for the second time since a one-year suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission.
