IPod Warranty: Speed?

IPod Warranty: Speed?
My iPod output jack just stopped working. So I requested a repair under my warranty. A package should come tomorrow or the next day for me to send my iPod to Apple. So I'm wondering how long do repairs like this take?

Because I know just one other guy who sent his iPod in for warranty, and it took like 3 months to get it back (but it was a sweet deal for him, his old 60GB iPod was its final warranty days, and it was replaced by a new 80gb). If my friends results are typical then I think I'll buy a shuffle to stem the tide for a while. But otherwise I may just makeshift with an old 512mb player lying around.

Well if you had an apple store around it would have gone really fast. but it shouldn't be to long.

They have 4 in eastern canada. I live maybe a 1000 or 2 miles away in the west.

Just in case your wondering, I got my iPod back today. So it took maybe less 2 weeks for the process. Not to bad. And I got a brand new iPod back, although the same model I sent in, not the new iPods.

That's pretty cool. Glad it worked out for you like it did. Considering transit time and such, it didn't take long for Apple to send out the new one at all.
