| Online Witnessing I don't have an evangelical gift nor can I say i'm really that good at witnessing as most of you can, but it seems to me in my experience that it's better for me to spread the seed of genuine repentance and sorrow before the full Gospel. They seem to disappear everytime the subject of "do you think you're a good person?" comes up. It appears to me that if there's any ounce of conviction they run away from it. eesh. Has anyone ever witnessed on line before and successfully led someone to Christ? I'd like to hear their testimonies from a first (or second) hand account if possible.

| I have witnessed both explicitly and implicitly online and I can't say that I've ever "led someone to the Lord." I'm not sure that's our job. We're witnesses, what the other person does with that info is between them and God. I'm ok with planting seeds, watering them and tilling rocks up where I find them. If the Lord lets me be a part of the harvest, it's a blessing, but I don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen.
And FWIW, the people who "led" me to the Lord weren't there to see it happen. I had to have time to think about it and come to Him on my own. |

| + 1 what OiBoyz said. Great explanation Boy.
The greatest part is when you remeet the person years down the road and see what they turned out to be. |

Are you the same OiBoyz from other forums? |

#6 | | Registered User | I've tried more times than I can count, and I've crashed and burned every time. So now I don't get involved with it online. It's hard to witness to someone when they can literally say anything with no accountability since they're just a username. In real life, 99% of them will treat you with at least a little more respect than they would online.

But I still will jump into the fray once in a while. I recently had several exchanges with a guy I've known online for several years. He's a devout, evangelical Atheist. We had quite a nice discussion, until he started belittling me and calling me stupid for believing in Creation. I keep trying with this guy, who knows what good it's doing.
But he won't be able to stand before God and claim to never have heard. So I guess it's not been a lost effort. I'd dearly love to see the guy get saved. Even if I'm not the one to "lead" him there.
Pray for Jeremy.

Reason: Edited because Evolution and Creation are very different.

| ive witnessed to people on mIRC before. i used to hang out in one room on Undernet for ages ...#Christian.
people used to come in all the time to take the piss or there would be genuine people searching for some sort of help.
ive shared my testimony in there, along with ones from everyday use saying how God works in my life.
i have no idea whether those seeds took root or anything,
but i do know that people were saved through that chatroom as some of those came back and shared about that.

Man! Atheist can be such a drag. All we can do is put a pebble in their shoe (so to speak) and start them to thinking through some of their ideas and opinions. |

| well yeah, but if you dont attempt to plant a seed, then that may of been the only chance for someone to have had a seed planted in their lives.
take every opportunity as best as you can.

| Rocket, have you been a Christian long enough to remember Dr. Walter Martin? He was THE Bible Answer Man. You can still hear his stuff online. |
