#16 | | Father, save him | I just have to say that Carry Me Down is like the best song ever. This song is awesome.
I don't own the cd though, but I'm planning on buying it as soon as possible.
Overall I would give this cd a 9.

| Great Cd Very good Cd. It has a different feel from the Triptych but that is not all bad. It is harder than some of their previous albums but also just as melodic. Get it. |

#23 | | happens. | I'm sorry, one out of your many posts wasn't negative. Amazing. =O I shouldn't have gotten as mad as I did, but I'm getting kind of tired of your constant complaining about the new CD. If you don't like it, fine, but you don't need to constantly complain. =P Again, I apologize. Maybe we should all nuke our nasty posts to just clean the thread up ourselves..

| They weren't exactly cheap...They were just....violently irrelevant.
Well...I like Fading Away a lot. And the title track is....fun. Does anyone know if Solid State released an E-crad for the cd? If I heard the whole thing again, I could really decide whether or not I liked it enough to get it. Quote:

| I gave it an 8 but as you can see, its currently my flavor of the month. Top songs are Carry Me Down, Sixteen, Fading Away and Grand Finale which is on the special editions in case you didn't know. Just out of curiosity, did anyone actually buy the regular edition?

| Well, now I have the whole thing, as a result of the generosity and subsequent pirating of a friend who brought it to my house yesterday.
I think, from a critical standpoint, the band does exactly what they want to. I think they pulled this off great, and it's a great cd fr Demon Hunter fans.
I myself still haven't really listened to it enough to know what I think. I really enjoy some parts...but...oh, it's complicated. I like the screaming parts. And I like the clean vocals even more than the last cd. But when you mix them, the "Happiness" of the cleans often seem to detract from the brutality of the screaming....A cardinal sin for my taste, but not at all for a melodic metal band. Watch me end up giving this an 8 (not sure yet) and eating my words. |

The Triptych was better, but only by a little - mainly due to its more technical guitar parts.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

After listening to STGOH (the CD) many times, Ethan and Don made some pretty darn good guitar parts, but I do agree with you in the fact that "The Triptych" had more technical/better guitar parts.
