Kansas stayed in the game and delivered when it counted. That's the mark of a championship team.

I've got a feeling that they're going to be looking for a new coach real soon though. They should do everything possible to keep Self around...he showed he can get it done.

I honestly didnt think Chalmers was gonna make that shot. But as soon as he did i thought the game was pretty much over.Without Dorsey downlow Kansas' big men had a field day in OT.

No way Memphis should have lost that game. They fell apart. They missed free throws. They jacked up ill advised threes. Kansas played great, and would not have won if they didn't, but Memphis made it possible.

I think Kansas deserved that win. They stuck together, and made the big plays when it counted. Chalmer's 3 was an amazing clutch shot. They made their FT's too. After Memphis missed those 4 FT's at the end of regulation the game was over. They had lost all momentum & confidence. Congrats to Kansas, it was fun to watch a close game like that.

Wow. I'm really glad Memphis didn't win.

Yes, that's 2 in a row for the Lady Vols of Tennessee. It was a fun game to watch, but not nearly as close as the Mens. Tenn. pretty much dominated.

It didn't take Kansas long to cough up the cash to keep Bill Self there. I can't say that I blame them one bit. That would've been a fairly demoralizing loss following a National Title.

It would've been like 1988, and Larry Brown. First he was rumored to be going to UCLA; called a press conference to say he was staying, and then a few days later announced he was leaving for the NBA Spurs. Later Roy Williams had a similar situation, when he called a press conference to state he was staying at Kansas (after North Carolina fired Matt Daughtery), but decided to go back home to NC just a few years later.

Bill Self was never seriously considered leaving, but knew to strike for what he wanted while the iron was hot. What many may not know is most of his demands weren't for himself. Better facilties for players, upgrading the exterior of Allen Fieldhouse, and infrastructure for the actual campus facilities were the focus of his concerns. His salary will still be much less than OK State offered. For a coach named Self, he is quite self-less! I'm really happy he stayed!
