EDIT: Powerhouse might be too strong of a word but they are a great team. I rank them 4th in the AFC behind the Pats, Colts, and Steelers.
You're right...powerhouse is way too strong a word. I'd take the Pats, Colts, Steelers, Titans, Chargers and maybe even the Bengals before Jacksonville. Also, Buffalo is up there too.

In the NFC, the Saints have to deal with Dallas, NYG, Washington, and a surging NFC North (Green Bay, Detroit and Minnesota). I agree they should overtake the Bucs and the Panthers for the division...but they've been streaky.

I don't think we can include the Bengals....
It's interesting you put Buffalo up there....I haven't gotten to see them this season, but Lynch looks pretty good.

Yeah, the NFC may have more parity this year than the AFC, since it's so up in the air.....

Most definitely not. The Chargers are not the same team as last year. LT's not the same back, Philip Rivers is not playing well, and their defense should not have been that easy to penetrate even though Adrian Peterson is awesome. The Titans have the potential, but Vince's touchdown to interception ratio is 3/8. His QB rating is only 61.5 on the season and their RBs have been okay, but not amazing. The Jags are winning even without MJD playing great (although that really kills a fantasy team), with their backup QB who most people had never heard of until this season. I admit, if Garrard was playing, the Saints game would've been closer. However, once MJD turns it on, and Garrard comes back (this week I think), the Jags will be the 4th ranked team in the AFC.

Sorry, I meant the Browns. Derek Anderson has been amazing.

The big problem with the Chargers so far this season is you never know which team is going to show up on Sunday. They've had moments of awesomeness this season...unfortunately they only happen in spurts, unlike last season where they kept it going the whole way.

It's almost like there's a serious lack of cohesiveness with the team this season.

I just don't see it in the Jags....they don't really seem like much of a threat to the Pats, but again, one reason I like the Pats more than the Colts is if you look at last year, the Jags ran all over the Colts, and dominated that game. The Pats run defense is much more solid.
The Titans have been winning with defense and just enough offense, especially late.....which is what they did during their late season run last year.....

I agree with what you're saying, I just think they'll right the ship easily in that division, at least enough to make the playoffs.....I mean, it's not like Oakland or Denver are really going to take over....

I agree with that too...though it'll be tough on their schedule. They've got to play four strong teams (Colts, Jags, Titans, Lions) in their final eight...and I don't think 8-8 wins the AFC West. I expect the winning team to be 10-6, though at this point anything can happen. All the teams are definitely playing very mediocre.

The thing is the Colts run D is a whole lot better this year. And the Pats run D is mor solid?Do you remember Addais game against them? And besides that fact NE's run game isnt amazing either.

I don't think they were incredibly psyched when Schottenheimer got fired. I don't personally think that Norv Turner is that great of a coach. A stat I found not too long ago said that the Redskins made the playoffs 6 of 7 years one time. The one year they didn't make it, their coach was Norv Turner.

For the poll up there, I'm a little surprised that AP got as many votes as the Pats.

The Pats are 8th in the league in rushing yards offensively, and 6th defensively, while the Colts run defense is 15th....I know the Colts are doing alot better than last year, but they're not yet on the same level as the Pats.

The bizarre thing is that Turner installed the Chargers current offense when he was the Offensive Coordinator here.

Though really I don't think it's entirely because of Norv, nor do I think the Chargers success was entirely because of Marty. The Chargers had a complete staff turnover between last year and this year. Cam Cameron is now in Miami and failing miserably while Wade Phillips is in Dallas and having tons of success. If there's a disconnect, I think it's less to do with Norv vs. Marty and more ot do with other coaching staff changes that happened before Marty was fired.

I'm surprised by alot of the results so far! Like how not one person has picked the Steelers, and how no one has caved yet!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Miami wins 8 straight, gets the wildcard, and wins the whole shabang.
