ok...i've never gotten anything like lower than a B, but somehow i ended up with a d in geometry...should i just wait to let them see it on the report card, or tell them b 4 they see it?

Give me your number and Ill tell them! No seriously, just tell em. You dont want them to have to find out and see the range of emotions on their face.

Tell them first. It'll earn good points with the parents that you didn't try to hide a bad mark.

You should tell them first, and explain (if you know) what made you get that mark, and what you think you can do to fix it. If they get too angry, remind 'em that you've gotten great marks for the most part, and that everyone messes up once in a while. Good luck, I remember how nerve-wracking it was to tell my parents about failing Spanish (and I don't even usually get terribly good marks aside from math class).

I got kicked out of school temporarily for bad grades. Telling that to the folks was a good time.

You can start by telling them all these horrible things about your life that are not true For instance (in a letter maybe) tell them you got fired from your job (if you have one), you met an older person who is not a believer and you think that you will marry this person once you graduate. Tell them you think that you may drop out of school so that you just hit the workforce earlier. After carrying on for a little while tell them that none of the above is true but you did however get a "D" in geometry. They will be relieved that none of the above is true and they will be able to accept the fact that you got a "D" much easier!

Obviously I am just kidding...thought a little humor might ease the tension of your situation.

I once got three F's in Jr. High...boy did that not go over well with my folks at all! I've kinda been there so I can relate. All I can say is be honest with your parents and have a good heart-to-heart discussion.
