| Any dancers??? I was just wandering if there are any dancers on the boards.
I just signed up for a ballet class after 15 years without a lesson!!! But I'm excited cause dancing lets me feel close to God (I do it all the time when nobody's around!! )

| I'm an ex-dancer. I took tap for three years and ballet for 7 or 8 lost count...but then I quit almost 7 years ago as we as kids were only allowed one out of school activity and I wanted to join a choir so I had to quit. Dance is an amazing way to express feelings. I've also taken some Christian dance workshops over the years. It really helped to have classical training when I did these.

| My first class was last night and today, I hurt. Bad. My calves are really knotted up .
Anyway, it was fun and I'm really excited. I have "danced" for a long time when I'm worshipping by myself (really, really alone ) I just thought it would be good to get back into the classical training stuff. Dance is an incredible way to worship God cause it is so active and free and it feels like straight-up overflow from a heart of joy!

| I'm making an assumption that you at one point were in classical training and left and are now coming back...wow good for you. ANd I empathise with the whole sore muscles thing. If you only have class once a week try to do some streatching at least once a day it'll hurt a bit at first but you're less likely to strain something and it'll help so much.

| yep, I trained classically for several years, but it's been over 10 years ago. The class yesterday was really funny (cause I looked like such a goof!). And thanks for the stretching advice - it makes sense. Otherwise I'll just be sore again next week and then the next week and then etc. etc.

| Hey, I LOVE DANCING!!!
I just gave up dance classes in October or November. (I can't remember which it was). It was just getting to be too much, and my priorities were at church things...and dance was pulling me away from that. Also, my teachers and everyone cursed too much, and it was just getting to be something I wasn't into anymore.
That part anyway...I still love dancing!!! I dance all the time around my house and stuff!! I took ballet for 10 years, and tap for 7.
Pretty soon two ladies from my church and my sister and I are going to be doing a dance en pointe to a Fernando Ortega song. We're also going to be doing sign language with it...I'm so excited!!! God's Best ,
Melissa

| That sounds awesome! I absolutely love the ballet class I'm taking. It isn't so serious and stuff, but I'm learning a lot! I told my instructor (jokingly) that I might be the first ballerina to start taking lessons at 26 (except I already had a few lessons)

| I love dancing too. Currently I'm taking ballet from a person at my church. The only other dance experience i've had was from productions at my church. So i've done ballroom, modern, swing, and ballet. I'll learn anything though.

| I love to dance! I think some people are just born dancing! The other night I was leading worship at church and afterwards this kid I didn't know came up to me and said, "You know, when you sing you feel the beat with your whole body! Either your foot tapping or your hand or sometimes your whole body!" I told him that I was just a dancer at heart!:kgrin:

| My friends and I used to dance all the time. We would do the line dancing/swing dancing hillbilly country music stuff. It is so much fun. Of course, the environment isn't that great... |
