No cash or gift cards for iPhones

So in an effort to prevent unlocking, apple stores will not accept cash or giftcards as methods of payment for iPhones.

I fail to see how this will limit the number of unlocked phones.

Why am I not surprised? Apple seems to be going overboard with this iPhone mess.

they're trying to protect their profits from AT&T and other wireless partners.

Yeah, $18 a month, or $432 an iPhone over the 2 year contract. Apple would be ridiculously stupid not to put a stop to unlocks.

Apple just keeps the suck-train rolling like they have been for about 8 months.
