| This is the biggest my board has ever (and will ever) be.
I'm very unhappy with my setup right now, and am considering dropping a bunch of pedals and buying a smaller amp.
1980 Fender Blazer (SSS) or 2008 Gretsch Electromatic 5120 > Boss CS-3 (compressor) > DOD FX40 (eq) > Modded Vox V487 (wah) > Modded Boss DS-1 (overdrive) > EHX Big Muff Sovtek (fuzz)* >Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde (distortions) > EHX Mini Qtron (envelope) > EHX Flanger Hoax (flanger) > Modded EHX Small Clone (chorus) > EHX Holiest Grail (reverb) > Ernie Ball Volume Pedal > Planet Waves Tuner & Boss DD-3 (delay) > Fender Bassman 50 > Avatar 2x12 w/ Vintage 30 and G12.
*I just finished modding a few pedals to have power supplies and my muff took a dive on me at practice. Not fun.
I'm very unhappy right now. My GAS is turning from acquisition to consolidation. I've never heard tone-suck until tonight (which I expected, having such a long chain with no real good buffer).
I am, however, happy with the pedal boards that they are on. Yes, I couldn't fit them all on one pedal board, so they are on two. I hand-made my own pedal boards from old suitcases, and they turned out FANTASTIC. I'll post pics up later in another thread, with a how-to, if y'all are interested.

I would drop the DS-1 Modded and the Jekyll and Hyde and Get A Route 66. .. i have a jekyll and hyde and its good and all but i get the same overdrive sound as the that with Route66.. Keep the MUFF .. those are really nice!!!.. Drop the dd3 and get a DD20!!!... Thats my THINKING .. but you could think totally different... i think you Amps are amazing.. i wouldnt change them.. but if you want small get a Vox AC15tube....
all of this of course is just what i would do. You are yourself and you have your own sound..
also. how do you like the Holiest Grail? i was thinking about getting one and getting rid of my Verbzilla.

On the flip side if he's only using the Jekyll side of the J&H, the R66 could replace the J&H and the CS-3.
Or (and here's a workable idea), if the DS-1 and Hyde portion are producing similar tones, then he could replace the J&H with a R66 and use the DS-1 and R66 while dumping the CS-3 (since the compressor on the R66 would replace it). |

ALSO!!! GET A SONIC STOMP!!!!!... the Route66 and the Sonic Stomp are my main effects!!!! .. and my Dotted 8th delay.

I would personally consolidate down to this:
Vox 847 Wah (possibly true bypass it)
VS Jekyll & Hyde
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal
-Tuner on the tuner out of the volume pedal (I don't notice that much difference with it being there)
Flanger Hoax
Boss DD-3 Delay
Holiest Grail
Amp
Think short signal path and getting the most out of fewer pedals. You could keep some pedals as "alternates" and swap them in as needed. You could get a passable chorus from the flanger hoax, so I'd loose the small clone. I'd loose the CS3, and put the DS1 and Muff as alternates. The Qtron wants to be at the front of the chain before the compressor, so it might be another good alternate pedal.

also. how do you like the Holiest Grail? i was thinking about getting one and getting rid of my Verbzilla. | I've been considering a Route 66. One of my favorite guitarists (Ethan Luck from Supertones, Demon Hunter) uses/used it. I really dug his tones on the 'tones, too. I'm finding I'm not really a muff fan...I want something a little nastier and synth like, I think. The DD-3 is a major one I may change, to get a tap tempo. I had a thread on it. I bought the Holiest Grail instead of upgrading it, and I'm testing the waters with it (the Holiest Grail makes a great short analog delay). My amp and I have a love-hate relationship. It sounds great cranked and through my Major Tom attenuator, but it's morbidly obese and I don't like carrying it all over the place, and I do that about 3 times a week right now.
Oh, and thanks for the compliment. I like my gear most of the time, too. Quote:

I think I may get a Route 66 just for my church board,. I actually modded my DS-1 to be more of a Jekyll type of OD. It has LEDs in the clipping section right now, and sounds pretty bright and full for an OD, but I'm thinking about changing out the diodes for something with a little more gain. You can actually hear my modded DS-1 (kind of) on my band's crappy recordings on our myspace, song Pack Your Bags (chorus, feedback, solo). Linkage in my siggy. Quote:

| This is my current board for church this sunday ( LWatford). I'm VERY pleased with my sounds using my Ibanez Blazer and my pastor's Classic 30.
1980 Ibanez Blazer (SSS) > Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde > Electro-Harmonix Flanger Hoax > Ernie Ball Passive Volume > (Planet Waves Tuner) Boss DD-3 > Electro-Harmonix Holiest Grail Reverb > Peavey Classic 30 > God's people's ears
I am using my handmade suitcase pedalboard, which I am also very pleased about. If anybody is interested in one of these, let me know. A lot of guys compliment them when they see them, and say they throw off a cool sort-of-vintage vibe, and they're sturdier than my Gator pedaboard.
The last picture is of my evil pedals on my other suitcase pedalboard. Some are broken, others are almost broken, and some are trying to tempt me to use them in an overly-massive effect chain. Some are for sale in the classifieds.
Sorry about the quality of photo, it's a cell phone camera.

If you do not need tap... (a dd-6 has pretty useless tap) its as good as the others for a lot of purposes.
