Stand Out Christmas CD This Year?

What's it going to be? In '05, it was the MercyMe Christmas Sessions. In '06, it was the ThirdDay Christmas Offerings.

So what is this year going to be?

I have Bebo Norman's new one but I haven't listened to it yet.

I will say Christmas Songs by Jars of Clay will be the Stand Out Christmas CD.

I am listening to that one now trying to find anything I would do on Sunday AM during December. Not sure yet.

Let it Snow, Baby; Let it Reindeer by RK is great.....I just got it.....and I know I'm biased towards them, but it still is very good, and is worthy of being checked out.

I was about to call you out on your selections, but then I checked and Andrew Peterson's "Behold The Lamb Of God" was released in 2004. No other Christmas CD even approaches its awesomeness.

Does it have new recordings of the previously released songs or is it the old album with just a bunch of new tracks?

It's the latter; it has 17 tracks, and about 8 of them were previously released, then they have a bunch of new ones....

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

I iTune'd the RK and Jars CDs last night. I REALLY like the RK. A little of it is corny but there are some amazingly solid tunes on there. I will give the Jars a listen today.

The new songs are fairly good. It's a bit lame that they put a bunch of already released songs on it though.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

The reason why they did put all the already released songs on it is because the original christmas CD was actually just an EP that was packaged together with Two Lefts (I think), so not many people actually own it.
