| Andrew is correct. Jeff is USAF, and I'm (Kyle) in the Canadian Army. SilverNitrate was in the USMC. I can't think of any others at the moment, but there are probably more.

| Here, it's different. You go to the recruiting centre, and they'll sit you down with the trade descriptions, let you browse through them for a while, take your particulars, then book an interview. In the mean time, you go home with the description booklets of the trades that you thought interested you and look them over to get a better idea of what you want to do. When you get to your interview, they ask you for three choices for a trade, then compare your choices to which trades are open. If none are open, they'll ask you if you want to wait until it opens, or just do something else. If you choose to wait, they put your file on hold and call you back when there are positions open. If you pick something else, they'll begin processing your application. Then you go and do your tests. You never actually sign on until you're ready to go to recruit school. The other thing that's different here is that you can get out any time you want. I have five years in the Army, and if I decided that this wasn't really working out anymore, I could just sign my release papers, and in six months, I'd be gone.
Oh, now that I think about it, suntuso is also in the Army. He's an MP. Eish...
