| It hit the yellow padding. It is a single. Whatever you are seeing, you are wrong.
Also, Lofton is the jerk. |

I mean seriously...who puts a 37 foot wall in left field? I wouldn't start talking about 'normal fences'.
And, like Art said, it hit the yellow padding. That means it's still in play. Yes close, but close doesn't count. |

| someone explain this whole Beckett/Lofton thing. From what I've read, they both sound like idiots, but it also sounds like Beckett is the instigator. |

| from the replay of it on ESPN this morning, Beckett shouted something at Lofton and Lofton in return acknowledged it and shouted something back, i wish they had played the real-sound recording of it, im interested in hearing what was exactly said.

As in, he made too big of a deal out of getting the out. Lofton then went ballistic. |

YOu said that Beckett shouted something, but not at Lofton. Which is wrong, even the umpire after the game acknowledged that Beckett antagonized Lofton after Lofton thought he had the walk, then had the fly out. So Beckett is the jerk for even bringing that minor league crap into a playoff game. Lofton is not the jerk. Lofton has never beena jerk. |

Everyone is used to it...except Josh Beckett apparently. |

I'm just saying that it's a habit for him that no one complains about except Beckett. If Beckett doesn't yell at him it just becomes a joke for sports commentators like you and I. Since he did, it does become a much bigger issue. |
