General rigs...
Matt Davis lately has been using Gibson Les Paul Standard and a variety of pedals into the AD140HTC and the two Orange cabs (sometimes on cab, depends on the venue) and his Sennheiser mic. Mike Jensen's usual rig is the Fender Telecaster, no pedals, into a Fender Supersonic amp with the Marshall cabs...though he also has used a Fender Bassman head and cab rig, and sometimes uses a Marshall Plexi instead of the Supersonic. When he uses the Bassman, he has no pedals, just turns it up to 10 and jams (not even a mic!). JG's rig usually stays the same, with the AX-7 usually getting more of the spotlight. In fact, I may be wrong about this...but the only time I've ever seen the AX-1 was in the MLAM video. Patrick, until recently, has always used his black Fender Jazz into the GK head and Ampeg cab. Only recently have I seen the blue Jazz turn up. I've also seen a Mesa Boogie preamp and power amp instead of the GK being used.

For years I used a typical off-the-shelf bar-type soap and I had no idea that, even though I rinsed properly and thoroughly after every cleansing, there was still a soap scum residue on my hands and fingers.
This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. |

| A few things to keep in mind... The rack gear you see Josh G. using is likely just the MIDI unit(s) for the keytars he's using, as the keytars tend to be MIDI controllers as well as having built in sounds, if any. Also, a band like Showbread is getting big enough that they might be doing some fly dates, in which case the only gear that is actually theirs would usually be the instrument(s) in their hands and their pedals. So just because there's a photo of them using an amp doesn't mean it's theirs always. That and they go on the kinds of tours where it's not unusual for bands to borrow one or more of each others' amps.
Oh, and the Ebay reference... That's actually not far from the truth. They've sold quite a bit of gear through MySpace bulletins. They just recently sold a couple guitars on there if you check the blogs. Matter of fact, last year I nearly bought one of Matt's guitars he was selling when they were playing a show semi-locally here, but ended up finding another one before the show came.

It'll be interesting to see what he starts playing in the near future.
