| For the real Christian... a question like this is really nothing more than a red herring, because what is the ultimate fate of the world anyway? The world is going to hell in a handbasket, it doesn't need the help of 'bad Christians' to do that. As I get older I care less and less about the fate of this world and more about the eternal fate of the people in it. Don't get me wrong... going out and doing good is something that all of us should do, especially us Christians... but first and foremost we are supposed to be adding souls to the Kingdom of Heaven. Not expending most of our energy to make this extremely temporary place better. If we knew our workplace was going to go up in flames the next morning, we wouldn't be wasting our time making it a safer and friendlier workplace, we would be warning as many people as possible and saving them from the fire rather than making sure their last day alive is comfortable and free of conflict.
