Proofs, and understanding how to correctly construct a proof, will come in very, very handy if you try to understand higher level math (at the college level, for instance). I never really learned how to do proofs well in geometry, and I really wished I had.
Proofs start out weird and awkward, but you'll gain a familiarity with them, since they tend to follow similar structures
