TRIP TO HAWAII

My family is taking a trip to Hawaii the first two weeks of December, and I was wondering if any of you had some traveling or sight-seeing tips.

Depends on where in Hawaii. In Oahu rush hour starts early. 6:00 or 6:30 am for the morning going into downtown Honolulu and probably 3:30 or 4 pm coming out of downtown. If you have to or are trying to be anywhere early or around that later part of the day make sure you leave early. If you visit Pearl Harbor it's best to be there early. It opens at 7:30am, but if you don't get there between 6:30 and 7am you could be in for a LONG wait. Probably won't be as important to get there at that time for you, though, since you're going in the winter. Make sure you take the time to drive up to the North Shore towards the western side of the island (by the Dole Plantation and coffee fields) and take that highway all the way around back into downtown Honolulu. It's a beautiful drive with tons of places to stop off. Haleiwa Joe's is a pretty good restaurant up on the North Shore, too. Also be sure you take H3 out of Honolulu as it's a pretty scenic drive, too, with some cool tunnels through the mountains and elevated highways.

Go to Diamond Head it's amazing
As Brent said take a trip to North Shore
there are gonna be great waves that time of year
get to Pearl Harbor early.....we got there at 7:30-8 I suppose
we were in group 15 I believe
the zoo isn't much to see....I wouldn't suggest going there....
The Mall (It has a name can't remember it) has an Apple Store in it.....
not to mention Bubba Gumps and it's great if you're into shopping
Wakkiki (I can't remember how the K's go) is a great beach hangout spot n such
there are cool shops down there too....

There are a few malls. I think the one you are talking about is maybe Pearl Center Mall. Not sure if that was the name or not. It has parking decks below it and an Old Navy and some other stuff like food courts on that level. Most everything else is above you for 3 floors. Aloha Stadium where the U. of Hawaii plays has a pretty cool swap meet every Saturday all around the stadium. I'm not sure if that still happens in December or not, but it's a really good place to get some souvenirs you might not get at all the touristy places. It only costs like 50 cents per vehicle to get into the thing.

Yup, that's it. There are more malls there than I realized once I started thinking about how many I saw. Definitely Ala Moana, though, because that's the name of the road it's on. Pretty cool place. I think Pearl Center Mall is the one that is in two sections across the road from each other that you can ride the "sky tram" or something to get between the two.
