The first Showdown CD is way better than the new stuff. I was so dissapointed on the genre change.

Lets face it. There is only 1 "Christian Southern Metal" band. Thats Maylene. There are no others. He is Legend and the Showdown aren't metal, they're like country (but a really bad sounding country muisc) or rock.

Yeah, I agree. I have the first album, one of my all time favorites, but I'm not sure whether I should buy the newer one or not.

I have it, I listen to it(not a lot). I mean I listen to almost all kinds of music, I just loved their first CD, I probably wouldn't even listen to them or have the new CD if it wasn't for the first.

I can't believe you call that country...
I still call The Showdown metal, because thats what it is, but they don't scream anymore and have more of a southern rock sound.

Yall obviously haven't heard of Remove the Veil. Im not surprised since they've been broken up for a year or two. Although the one album they put out is DEFINITELY southern metal! It's called Another Way Home. I'd put it right up there with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

Disregarding He is Legend, I really don't understand how you can say that The Showdown doesn't have a metal feel to them. To me, I hear a lot of Metallica influence in them, especially in Temptation Come My Way.

Wow, I totally forgot that I ever created this thread.

I've heard of Remove the Veil, and Disciple is my favorite Christian band.
