Well I think I would like to go into some sort of video editing. I forgot to talk about this earlier, but at the camp this guy from Dallas was there and he is a video editor for commercials and I was talking to him about it. I didn't really get to discuss it in the detail that I had wished (how much it pays, the hours, and what all it actually involves), but he told me which colleges would be good for it.. Either Sam Houston, University of Texas, or North Texas, all schools that I had already considered transferring to . It would be really cool if I could get into UT because all of my friends are in Austin, but I don't know how I would pay for it. Sam Houston has a really nice campus and media program but it's in Huntsville which stinks. North Texas would be cool too except that it's like a five hour drive away which means I wouldn't see my family very often.

What do you plan on doing?

It's hard, since it looks like they all have their pros and cons....

I'm looking at either zoology or journalism....I haven't probably given it enough thought yet, so I'm still sorta up in the air.

Oh and of course in all reality I actually wish I could be a really good musician that plays in an orchestra or an astronaut. Or both.

So, hey! I'm Mike, but most people on here call me Gustin (last name). You pretty much rule for starting the No Shave November thread. It has spawned my current beard.

Nice to meet you Mike Gustin! My gotee has turned out quite nice (can't really call it beard because there just isn't enough there) too, may your facial hair continue to flourish!

So I caught kids smoking weed at the skate park that I work at. They were doing it behind the actual park, but I told them that they needed to leave and they just like laughed at me. But then I was like well you can either leave or I can call the cops and then they scattered, and I'm not letting any of them back into the park. I really would have called the police but some of them have already been picked up by the police for doing it so I know that it wouldn't have any effect on them. Yesterday one of them tried to come back into the park and it was the first time I've ever yelled at one of the kids and it ended with me telling him to "get the hell out of my skate park" after he claimed that he had talked to my boss and received permission to come inside. The kids are basically screwed because I'm not letting them in, but what are they going to do about it? Go to my boss and say "Nik isn't letting us in the park cause he caught us smoking pot"? I'm sure that would turn out really well for them.

In other news;
I watched American Gladiator last night and it was fantastic
I watched Juno last night and it stunk

I forgot to say that I also caught a kid trying to take a dump behind the skate park. He's only 7 years old and claims that he couldn't find the bathroom inside. I directed him to the facility and a hazardous situation was avoided.

Everybody is making New Year's Resolutions. They're pretty much a joke and I usually don't do them, but what the heck I'm going for it this year. My grandfather was an avid runner and passed away last year so I decided that as a combination of good health and tribute to my grandfather I'm going to run a marathon. Naturally this will mean drinking a lot of water, which I've already begun doing, eating better, which I've never done, and running. So tomorrow I'm going to start it up! I haven't exercised in a long time so hopefully I don't die. I will track my progress here, so it will help motivate me.

In other news, I really want to see There Will Be Blood, but it's not showing anywhere!!!!

Yeah I don't know how hard it will be either, but I think it will be rewarding. I looked up marathons in Texas (I read that it takes at least 6 months to get ready for an inexperienced runner) and I probably won't get to run an official one until next fall/winter because they tend to not have them during the summer since people would probably die from heat strokes. So that gives me like 10 months to get ready which I think will be plenty. I'm just going to take it one day at a time.

There Will Be Blood is a movie btw, I think that you're thinking of a band. Easy mistake though

Haha thanks. Here's the breakdown of everything that is currently going on:

-My brother graduated from college in December. He lived in Huntsville. In January he could no longer work at the school fitness center, and his first ever girlfriend broke up with him. He's at home now, constantly sad. Meanwhile my dad believes that he should be able to find a job in one business week (this is no joke, my dad is crazy when it comes to this) and is constantly badgering/talking down to him which of course is just making him more depressed. I've been working so much that I haven't been able to hang out with him that much. He's leaving on Monday to go back to Huntsville and he said he doesn't know when he'll come back, if ever because him and my dad got such a big fight.

-Back in November my friend who lives in San Antonio said that he would be moving back to Houston in the fall of '08 and wanted to know if I wanted to room with him. He wanted to come back because all that his roommates in San Antonio want to do is drink and smoke, and he knows that I do neither. Of course I want to room with him, but there is the whole money thing. While at winter church camp somebody prayed for me, and prayed that God would make it clear what I should do. After camp I prayed about it one night and I had a dream. In the dream me and my friend were moving boxes into a house. Across the street were three kids that I had gone to high school with who were big party goers, steroid users, and pot smokers. One of them was playing a guitar and the other two were singing. The music they were playing was really good, and I wanted to go over there. My friend though stopped me and was like, "Hey we need to keep moving these boxes, you can't get distracted." I kept trying to cross the street and every time he stopped me. IMO God is telling me that I should do it, and that moving in with him is going to help me just as much as it will help him. What do ya'll think?

-Meanwhile my parents have constantly been going at it. And it's weird how parents only fight at unreasonable times, like 5:00 in the morning. Meaning of course that I'm sleep deprived and I'm struggling to stay awake in my classes.

There's more going on, but I have to go to work.
