How would you rate the two, and the experience overall?

Homeschooling was awesome. Public school is awesome.
It was a necessary progression; as a result of joining public school I have gotten much more musical exposure and joined a prof. jazz band with my instructor. I also have many more friends then before. Homeschooling was really sweet though. Straightforward learning, compared to the homework/project crap you get in public school.

Maybe, 10 and 10. If I could do it again I'd do it the same way. If I had to choose just one forever I'd probably go public school just for the social part.

I was homeschooled all the way from K-12. I loved everything about it and was able to graduate at age 16. The biggest hurdle in homeschooling itself was the people who would constantly question my parents, two people who even went as far as "reporting" us to the local school system. (Remember that this would have been back in the late 80
s early 90s)
I think the two greatest misconceptions about homeschooled kids are, one, they don't have a social life, which I find amazingly funny, and two that they are not as smart as public schooled kids. Which is even funnier than the first.
My younger sister graduated a couple years back, and I remember our manager at the store we both work at telling me that she was afraid my sister wouldn't be able to keep pace with the college teaching. My sister went on to make the Dean's list every single semester. I was so puffed up with pride!
If anything, both my sister and I found classes outside of home slowly paced.
I have two younger sibling still being homeschooled.

Awesome! How's college going?

And swtMaebird, I haven't heard anyone say that homeschooled kids aren't as smart as publicly schooled kids; the person (or people) who said that must be nuts!

Was homeschooled up until 3 weeks ago. I'm at community college now, awaiting acceptance into a university.

Hey I am now a freshman in Highschool and i have been homeschooled all the way so far. There are some homeschoolers who have no social life but most of the ones i know have one. Homeschooling pretty much rocks.

Final note: 23 is the number of different users i counted (i counted fast so don't take it for exact)

Yay I was homeschooled for first and second grade!
Then my mom put me in public school in second grade again.

When I go to high school next year (I won't be homeschooled anymore), I'll have been homeschooled for 8 years.
