Ugh!

I feel so tired and ticked. Tomorrow's my birthday and I never wanted to have a party in the first place. I'm going to be 17 and I don't even know how to drive(I already know and respect the fact that their are people here who don't know how to drive yet). I really was expecting a change for my birthday. I wanted to learn how to drive and my mom couldn't even wake me up late at night and teach how drive in a parking lot.

Not only that, I still have mono and it turns out that it affects the splean and I was told that I can't practice drums hard, run around or lift anything thing heavy. My mom is also having the birthday party being held at my Youth Group, and I tried telling her that I never wanted a party/gathering at Youth Group. I almost wanted to, but now that I paralyzed due to mono, and that a huge majority of my friends aren't coming, I don't think I have the heart to go to my own birthday party.

The only thing I've gotten for my birthday was a broken heart. This is the worst birthday that I ever had.

Later.

I know it sounds like a disappointing day, but remember that there are little blessings even in that. How nice of your mom to want to bless you with a birthday party! It may not be everything you wanted it to be, but it still shows her love for you.

Birthdays, you'll soon learn, are simply days. It's nice to remember it as the day that you were born, but that doesn't change the fact that just it's another day on the calendar; you'll have to work, go to school and be sick on far more birthdays in your life. My birthday is right in the middle of flu season and I cannot remember a birthday of mine in which I did not have the flu. Learn to find the blessings even in the difficulties and to thank God for those. Remember that even when it seems awful, it could be worse so Praise God that it is not!

Hey again. The birthday party wasn't as bad as I expected it. In fact, it was pretty good. Other good news that I've probably discovered myself is that I don't think I was effected badly when I was playing drums for my worship team tonight. I didn't feel any pain from my mono while playing(and I played my heart out). So, I guess it did go okay. SecretAgentRat was right when she said for us to count our blessings.

Rock On!

Your doctor did tell you why certain physical activities weren't good for someone with mono did he/she? It's not that playing contact sports or rough-housing will make you feel just a little bit more sick, they might rupture your spleen (which is abnormally swollen in those with mono) and send you into emergency surgery to remove your spleen and clean up the mess it made before your insides turn into a playground for harmful bacteria! While I wouldn't think that playing the drums poses a huge risk to your spleen, if your doctor told you not to, it may be a good idea to listen....?

I'd definitely listen to him if he told you not to play. Or even if he said it was fine, I'd probably still be cautious. I had mono a couple years back and it was rough. I stayed away from sports for a good 3 weeks afterwards. It is not something to take lightly.

We won't know if I still have mono until this tuesday. My mom guessed that having mono would mean no drum playing. Hopefully, when we get to the doctors, he'll probably take another blood test, and that will determine if my mono is still in effect.

I actually don't know if mono = no drums. I always had the impression that it just meant no sports because of the potential for physical contact that could rupture the spleen.

of course, I'm not a doctor.

What a long weekend. I have finally finished celebrating my birthday. I recieved altogether 80 bucks and a Guitar Center giftcard for my birthday. Overall, I think they were okay. I don't really have much to say in this post for now, but I'm still working at trying to finish up schoolwork and be able to soon start that band. See you again.

If you do indeed have mono (and I'm hoping for your school attendance and overall well-being that you don't), you should ask the doctor directly whether or not drum-playing should be limited. Your mom being present for the Q + A would be good, too. The assumption is that direct contact to the abdominal region is a BAD thing for mono-sufferers, but is there a whole lot of direct contact to the abdominal region in drum playing??? Anyway, ask the doctor point blank, and then listen to the answer.

Well, so far nothing has happened yet. I heard that there's going to be an update for CGR soon. Rawk For Christ, said it's going to be a surprise. Maybe we'll get some new forums to talk in.

In other news, my mom said that we'll work on getting the C-rock band together after we finish schoolwork. But, she still on "shut down" towards using the internet because of her fear of online strangers. Hopefully, the information that AXguitar gave me have her convinced that I'm a responsible young man and that we should use the internet. Let's just wait and see.

You should tell her that if you put up poster you also have to include your phone number or your real email address, but if you post on craigslist they give you an anonymous email address so they don't have your actual contact info.

Happy belated birthday. I hope you don't have mono - it's rough to be sick. I'm glad your b-day turned out okay after all! Take it easy and feel better soon

Hey, I was just wondering where/how you find those articles you post in theology?
