Does anybody here have any advice on how to record yourself when you drum? If so, how many times should you do it?

I've been playing for nearly two years now and I haven't really recorded myself too often. Any advice?

If you're talking just to listen to yourself play... I used to set a mini tape recorder in the room. quick and easy. It's also cool to set up a video camera because it gives you a good idea of what you look like to an audiance. both tape decks and video cameras generally have decent built in condensor mics.

If you're talking recording drum tracks for an actual song, try poking around in the recording and live sound section.

Just to hear yourself, anything would do (even a little computer mic and something like Acid). It is a good idea to record yourself periodically and listen to it.

I tried my mobile phone once (nokia 7373), and that wasn't good!

But, I must try with my PC, if I can figure it out
