Overdressed

Well the new album came out today and the preorders were apparently shipped last week. I've been listening to the album since yesterday and I'm really enjoying it.

Anybody else?

I got in on the limited edition pre-order deal (2 for the price of 1). I've been listening since last week.

I absolutely love it. There is a lot of talent in this group. Four different lead vocalists on the first four tracks is pretty awesome. It might actually be my favorite CC album yet. To me, it sounds like they took everything they've ever done and put it in a blender and then added some new twists.
The addition of Andrew Osenga to the band (yeah, I know he's been with them for a while now and he's not brand new, but he's getting to be a much bigger part of the band now) was a big plus for me. Allowing him and Randall Goodgame to co-write the majority of the songs was also great for me since I like both of those guys.
I was hoping this would be something I'd like a lot, but I wasn't sure it would happen.
No complaints here though...wouldn't change a thing.
Everybody in the band filled their roles very well.

I have mixed feelings. I'm not sure I feel like Andrew Osenga fits quite right, for some reason. I liked his stuff with the Normals, but somehow....I don't know.

It doesn't help that I bought Paul Simon's Graceland a few days before, and totally loved that. Kinda gives a skewed perspective.

! haven't heard it yet

I haven't been blessed by the hearing of this project as yet, (I asking my kids for it for Christmas)but know I have never been disappointed since their conception (well maybe a few of the ethnic pieces on "Share the Well"). I use much of their material in my VA Medical Center "Wandering Gospel Minstral" Ministry and the male mockingbirds absolutely love to gather and sing harmony to my solo version of "God Who Saves." (No, really! They have other favorites, as well) I really loved 'Back Home" and "In the Company of Angels !!" and have recorded backing tracks to "The High Country" to get an 18 yr old young lady guitarist at my church to do it with me someday. (heavy sigh!)
Blessed, and in His grip, Dan
