| Using USPS Priority mail boxes for UPS shipping? I'm a first time eBay seller and unfortunately, I specified dimensions for my package and used the dimensions for a free USPS Priority mail box that you can get from eBay. Can I use this box with the UPS service? (One of the services that I specified were available for the buyer). Can I just turn the box inside out? (Does anyone know if there is a USPS logo on the inside?)
Thanks, |

| Cover it in brown mailing paper. You can buy a roll cheap at Wal-Mart, probably, and can use it for many future mailings. I don't think it's wise to try to just use the box as is.

| You shouldnt be able to use it as is, if you wrap it in brown shipping paper you should be fine...

Thanks, | Do you really think it's ethical to do this? My suggestion is if you are not going to use USPS to deliver your packages, then you shouldn't be using their freely supplied boxes.

Chris | I have to agree with Chris. The difference in price shouldn't be much, and you would be patronizing the company that offered you the free box. Integrity is worth that price. |

Integrity is worth that price. | Uh...the boxes are free and from what I can tell there's nothing about the free boxes that says, "you have to use our USPS service when you get these boxes". I really don't see anything unethical or lacking integrity in this. All you're really doing is recycling a box. I don't see it being any different than getting coupons for one supermarket and using them at rival supermarket that accepts competitors coupons. |

Really, though, I wonder why anyone ships anything with anyone other than the USPS. I can't stand UPS or FedEx or DHL or anything else.

Plus, one of the guitars I had shipped to me priority arrived 7 months after it was shipped. USPS can screw up an order on a far more massive scale and you have no recourse. |

| Well the reason I wanted to send using the USPS priority mail box on the UPS service is I got a bit confused about eBay shipping. I gave my seller the option of UPS 3 Day Select and entered the dimensions of the USPS box, and now eBay won't allow me to change the dimensions and recalculate shipping. So I wrote the guy and told him not to select that unless he wants to pay extra for shipping...or I could relist the item or do whatever. Then on the listing I just said sorry, UPS 3 Day Select not available. |
