So maybe "innocence" isn't quite the right word. "Naïvety," then? *grin*

Sooooo... Hi.
Hello, Your Geekiness.

Psh. I was just quoting Bible facts, G.

From Genesis 29:
16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was lovely in form, and beautiful.

Besides, Leah's the sis who was more "in the right" anyhow. She didn't go and steal her dad's household idols and lie to his face like my namesake did. From my readings, Leah seems to me more like the prodigal son's brother, but without the pity party afterward. Her lot in life kinda wasn't fair to her, but I don't recall a verse where she made a tremendous deal about it. That's pretty admirable, in my book. Plus, she got blessed with the most kids, and didn't Jesus come from her line?

Besides, I like the name Leah.

Quote:
It might be new, but it's still pretty cheap.
Cheapness does in fact exist here already; I'll give you that. But the majority of my posts have had actual content, "cheap" or no. I dare you to try and find cause to CPF my blog based on my posts.

Well you've got me beat. I don't get on for a couple of days at a time, sometimes. And then when I finally get back in the groove, I have weird posting spurts. Meh.

Hey yourself, J.

Haha. Yes, less posts = easier lurkings, certainly. It also means this place is not full of (long) crazy-posts. But that's good, or I'd never be able to keep up in my own blog. I can't read biglong blurbs lately, it seems.

So, something I've wondered ever since I've lurked in your blog and such... What exactly are the construction people building/doing that has kept them there for such a long time (unless I'm mistaken in my time guesstimation)?

Because I woke up at 6 and couldn't sleep.

Stupid, indeed. But oh well.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
The late ones?

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
HAHA. Hahaha. Hah. Beats me.

3. Do you regret losing your virginity to who you lost it to?
Quote:

Ditto me that. Except Art is not my wife, he's my husband.

4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
Um. Maybe I wouldn't have dated my ex. But then, I learned some things from that experience, so even then I don't know.

5. Name of your first grade teacher?
Mrs. Thayer. She was/is awesome. She retired (as did nearly all of my teachers from my early years) but she's still around. I could stalk her church and say hi if I really felt like driving down to San Mateo.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Getting more sleep. Too bad the construction workers are preparing for the day's work now...

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
It changed numerous times. The most memorable one were a model (and/or something on a stage), because I was pretty much told off by my parents on that one. And my music dreams later in life.

8. How many colleges did you attend?
Two. And I took a course that supposedly got me college credit from a third school, but I never could figure out how to claim the three credits and transfer them.

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It was at the top of the "clean night shirts" pile.

10. What are your thoughts on gas prices.
They suck.

11. If you could move anywhere where would it be?
SF or somewhere on the peninsula.

I2. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
No alarm this morning. But the construction workers are certainly making enough noise.

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Hell if I know. My mind wanders aimlessly until I am out.

16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Folding socks. There are always just so freaking many of them. Oh, and clearing junk piles.

17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?
Of course. Where, I have no idea, but I'm sure I could find a worthy enough cause.

18. Get up early or sleep in?
Sleep. Always.

19. What is your favorite cartoon character?
Sesshomaru, from Inuyasha. He's a freakin' pimp.

20. Favorite thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Just the one guy, thanks, and I shall spare you the details.

21. Have you found real love yet?
Absolutely.

22. When did you first start feeling old?
When I started this survey.

23. Favorite 80's movie?
Guh. I have no idea. I wasn't paying attention to pop culture when I was 4, sorry.

24. Your favorite lunch meat?
I usually go for turkey, but I like ham and chicken as well.

25. What do you get every time you go into Costco?
I really don't know, as I haven't been there in awhile. Art and I always check out the electronics section first, though.

26. Beach or Lake?
Both? Either? I must say, I miss the Pacific air...

27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Not at all.

28. Do you own property?
Land property, no. Personal property, of course.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?
I don't know that it's a guilty pleasure, but I like watching anime.

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?
Why wouldn't I want... nevermind.

31. What's your drink?
Midori Sours are pretty good.

32. Cowboys or Indians?
I hate the Cowboys football team, so I'll go with Indians.

33. Cops or Robbers?
Hmmm. Cops, I guess.

34. Who from high school would you like to run in to?
Huh. Most anyone, with a certain few notable exceptions (the "popular" kids).

35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
I don't know. 100.5?

36. Norm or Cliff?
*is lost on the reference*

37. 'The Cosby Show' or 'The Simpsons'?
Cosby, most definitely.

38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
Dating Chris the Piss. He was a friggin idiot, and so was I.

39. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?
Since I work around the apartment, the only other person who would be in here would be Art. And I do rather like him.

40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Quote:

41. Indoors or Outdoors?
Indoors.

42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Ohh, yeah. I killed the Sentra, my last car.

43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Sort of. My class of sorts (an SF city-sponsored program put on by the fire dept.) were using them in practice so we'd know how to use extinguishers. It was a small controlled pit fire, and we each shot a good burst or three at the flames. That was a fun class.

44. Last book you read?
Um. Good question. My Chinese workbook? Does it count if it's in one of those pocketed folders?

45. Do you have a teddy bear?
Yes. Teddy resides on my old bed in SF. Apparently I'm not allowed to take him, though.

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
My high school bathroom. Oh wait, strangest, not most disgusting.

47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
SoCal? Fresno is the farthest south I've ever been.

48. Do you go to church?
Not right now.

49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Either, as long as "relationship" = friendship.

50. Just how old are you?
23.

Ohh, it's been a long while, all right. I've been hearing the noises for well over a month. They're working on our outdoor stairwells, reinforcing the landings or something. We'd been hearing them doing the work on the other side of our particular building last month, and now they're directly in front of my door, thumping away. In fact, part of my outside wall got torn out a couple of weeks ago, and the pounding was so hard it was shaking my couch. Soyes, additional annoyance due to them being done with one side only to move to my side next.

The construction seems to have finally calmed down for the night, and Rachel is back asleep. I got only 10 hours of sleep before my back started hurting too bad to stay in bed.

A new page, a new day, same old construction. The headache is new also, sadly. I don't know where I would be without ibuprofen. I wish the other drugs I grew up taking still worked on me (namely aspirin).

I just finished making meatballs. I mixed an egg, some of an onion, a clove of garlic, Italian breadcrumbs and other spices, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce with the last of the ground beef. The meatballs are pretty good. I would know, as I tossed a couple in my easy mac for lunch. (What, you thought I was actually going to cook for myself after that hourlong feat of kitchenry magics? )

I've been working on my Age of Kings campaigns lately. Just last night, I nearly won the second Saladin campaign, and the program shut down on me with an error message. Not. Amusing. I was incredibly pissed for a bit after that. But this morning, I finished it and the next campaign, although admittedly with some of an annoyance on both as I was slightly confused for a good many minutes. "But I destroyed all their buildings and villagers? Where the heck are the last of those frickin' British?" ... and "But I just brought the thingie back to the temple with my monk! What the heck else is supposed to happen?" But I eventually figured both out, slight delay or no. Oh, and I finished off the last Joan of Arc campaign as well. So all is well and good. Next: take on those darned Starcraft Terran campaigns.

Cheap hotlink of the day:

Hahahaha. Uhh, what did you think was going to happen when you kept jabbing that stick into the poor creature? Hah.

So apparently I volunteered my former best guy friend as dating fodder to the S girls in SARS' blog. Haaah. We'll see how that pans out.

Hey now, "fodder" is a part of my vocabulary that does not refer to cows. I have always said that relationship issues make for song and poem fodder. Dating fodder is not so far off from that usage. So there.

SO. Does that mean you'll be making more trips to Folsom? I have in the past considered making Ibby an A/E guit, but Art just purchased this lovely new soundhole pickup for me and I can't let 'er go to waste. However, I'd be willing to head out there with you and help you navigate the aisles of boytoys so as to narrow your gaze some.

Is teh_Martin better than ever, now that she's got onboard electronic stuffs?

hahaha. there weren't aisles of them. two walked in as we were leaving. and then there was one in the parking lot, messing up his hair in the rearview mirror of his car. it cracked me up, and Lily missed it entirely.

well...she is useable for chapel now. I think it sounded good, but I couldn't really tell through the amp. apparently they plugged me into the loudspeaker system, though, so when I tested her out it blared out into the parking lot. hahah.

I'd want a soundhole just so I could use it with all 3 of the steel string acoustics.

A lot of them don't sound to bad, either.

They're a pain to deal with though sometimes. Especially the ones with cables built in. I always had trouble with the cable bumping into and muting my e and b strings.

Ew. No fun. Construction can be stinkin' loud. It's annoying how the times for work are early-ish morning to early-ish afternoon. Doesn't exactly help that some people like to actually sleep around then .

Tylenol doesn't have much effect on me. Ibuprofen is probably my favorite, followed by Aspirin, but Tylenol doesn't do much for me if I take much of it, or for a few days. *Shrug*

I prefer Aleve. Ibuprofen, tylenol, and aspirin don't really work for me. It might be because I am almost always in pain, because of my knees. But, hey, you get used to it. (trying not to sound whiney.)

I have never played that game. I think I will have to give it a go. From what I hear it is fun.

Rachel, were you present for any of our discussion on spontaneous combustion?

Aspirin is not your friend, insofar as spontaneous combustion goes. Neither is alcohol. In fact, it's wise to refrain from one while not abstaining from the other. Or...so say those who maintain that there must be a reason occasional civilians explode without warning.
