Lightbulb Summer is.......

As we make our way towards that beautiful time of the year that we call summer, I was wondering what it is that people like the most about it. For me, it's cricket, my birthday, swimming pools, and the smell of rain falling on a hot road. I'm interested in hearing what others think, hopefully others will put in their ideas

Oh dude, that just sent me back to my childhood The smell of rain falling on a hot road. Man, there's nothing like that smell.

Well, when I was a kid, summer meant going to the pools, hanging out at the beach, BBQs, parties at my parents' friends places.

Oh, and cricket, definitely. My nan used to give me a sip of her beer when she watched the cricket.

For me, my dad's side of the family had a farm, so at summer time around Christmas we'd all go up there and pick potatoes, squash, whatever they were growing. Hard, hard work, but it was great hanging out with my cousins.

Yeah, I made the most of summer when I was a kid Not so much these days. Gotta love a summer Christmas though, am I right?

Oh, I do love a summer Christmas. And how could I leave BBQ's off my list. Well, I kinda like them all year round, but they come into their own in the summer. Now for me, it also means late nights watching English football (well, being in Colombia makes that a bit different, but anyway)

I live on the Gold Coast so excluding maybe 2 months of the year, it's pretty much always summer.

I will like waking up in the morning and not having to put on a dressing gown.

Going to the beach, going boating/skiing, holiday's, and of course...PARACHUTE!!!
When I was a kid summer was the time to make hay bales and having fun stackin' them up to make forts in the barn made some good times!
