I wouldn't assume that either. I don't think his technique is all that good; that is why I said not to emulate him. Some pop vocalist just have naturally resilient voices that they seem to be abe to abuse regularly without any short term problems. Just because it sounds good to you, doesn't mean its good technique. The best pop singers IMO are those that have been classically trained first. I think everyone should learn to sing in Italian before they learn to sing in English.

i think his voice is pretty good personally. not saying that i disagree but i love the variety of music that is being produced these days, almost any kind of genre
