| He Saved Us I thought I would share a song we like to play, ala Apologetix, sung to the tune of "Venus" by Shocking Blue (written by Robbie van Leeuwen). He Saved Us
God is on the mountain top,
surrounded by thunder and flame.
He sent down His only Son,
and Jesus was His name.
(chorus) He saved us! Yeah, Jesus, He saved us!
He's my Saviour, my Redeemer,
Jesus, saved us!
He walked the world in beauty and light.
He cured the blind and the lame.
And when He laid down His life,
The world would never be the same.
(chorus)
(solo)
So be careful which path you take,
You never know where it might lead.
Jesus said there's only one way to the Father,
and that is to come through me.
(chorus)
It's a fun song to play, and since the commercial for women's razors called Venus, it's tune is known by many even today. I sometimes take my guitar to work (graveyard shift) and I'll play in the breakroom during lunch break. I'll sing these words to the old tune, and witness to guys that normally dont attend church. I'll usually state I don't remember the original words, but I know these, and kick it off...
