Looks pretty sweet and great price. Anyone tried it? This is the latest in my line of EH gas.

I had 2 of the original LPB1's. Its just a clean boost, yer Fish and chips will do the same thing with the eq sliders set in the middle, although the LPB might have a little more boost available. The Fish is up to +15 db, don't know what the LPB is. The LPB is one of the simplest circuits, it literally has like one transistor, one or 2 capacitors, and a couple resistors. As I remember, there was a loss of highs with the LPB. The Fish would probably do a better job.

As far as your problem with your FnC, its probably a solder joint of the jack to the pc board that's been broken. To avoid that in the future, strain relieve yer cables. It could be the jack itself too... You have tried different cords, right?

How would either of those (FnC or LPB) to the BBE Sonic Stomp? I know what the BBE does, but how is that different from a boost? I want something that I can leave on all the time (as I did with the FnC) to boost and shape my tone. But I also want something I can hit for a boost when I need it.

Dunno, the BBE is a "magic box" It may have boost capabilities too, dunno, never used one. Some like what BBE does, others don't. I have never used one with a guitar, I guess I'm too much of a purist. With a whole mix, sometimes I like it at first, but after a while, to my ears it can sound artificial in a way that I can't quite describe. YMMV

There is no reason though, that you can't have 2 FnC's on yer board - one on all the time, the other set as a dedicated solo boost. I use mine for a boost, and tweak the eq sliders just a bit - for a LP type guitar using the neck pickup, I will bring the 200 hz and maybe the 400 down just a bit so its less muddy. For a strat, I might go the other way to fatten up the tone for a solo, especially for the bridge pickup. That's why I like an eq for a clean boost.

LPB is a fatter boost than say a Mosfet boost. You'll get less highs and a little more fatness with an LPB. I like using the LPB into my TS808 or Proco Rat to give it a nice bottom end.

The Sonicstomp isn't a boost outside of the two frequency knobs.

Not sure about the Fish 'n Chips, but the Boss EQ introduces hiss if it's set to anything but flat.
