| extra thick ribeyes, in a cast iron skillet. Seared to a delightful crust and finished with 5 minutes in the oven @ 350* for that nice spot between rare & medium rare (dark red but sort of warm). Magnificent, and even worth the burns. (slipped flipping one of the steaks and dropped it in the pan... splash!)
sorry, iphone camera stinks |

| Tonight I cooked some beef and flavored it with soy sauce. I love it that way.
I made rice and cauliflower with cheese sauce to have with that.
We still had fruit cake left over from Christmas so we ate some for dessert. |

| I made soup for this week and accidentally burned my throat trying it out. it's not that fancy though...I had some slightly dry rice and I just threw in a bunch of random stuff that needed to be cooked--asparagus, mini red potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, etc. we'll see how it holds up.
for tonight's dinner I made:
pasta with 50% homemade sauce. it contains: tomato paste, spaghetti sauce "base" (minced tomatoes and a couple of random other things) and I added chopped garlic, ground beef, loads of parsley flakes and garlic powder and minced onion thingies and rosemary and oregano and black pepper and the list of spices goes on. basically...whatever we had that seemed like it would go well went into the mix.
salad: spring leaf whatever-it's-called with sundried tomato/feta/black olive dressing and kalamata olives, real feta, and blackberries. I hope it actually tastes good. I'm a little nervous about the blackberries.
the end! |
