| My brother randomly took me to it tonight. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was really great.

| Thanks for the opinions guys. I got really excited when I first saw the trailers for this movie (I love things of a fantastical sort of nature..on which note, I highly recommend NOT watching Pans Labyrinth. It was an awful letdown).

Back to Stardust though: It really was great. Humorous, but sweet. I greatly enjoyed it.

| Mr. Dawg, am I going to have to start (or dig up) a Pans Labyrinth thread? I was ridiculously excited to see this movie. I love fantasy, adore subtitles (yes, I'm one of the weird ones) and thought it would be amazing. It was so much more sobering than I expected, and it would be fair to say that a large part of my opinion comes from the fact that I even had expectations about it. I wanted it to be as innocent as it looked (having never seen a full trailer, you can only imagine what kind of ideas I had in my head)...and it wasn't. It left me feeling terribly sad, a little confused, and wishing I could get the narrators voice out my head.

- | Hmmm. I think the difference between us, (I love subtitles myself) is that I was expecting the movie to be overrated; I had shallow friends who worshipped it, and I assumed they did so just because it was a 'cool foreign film'. Thus, I was pleasantly surprised when the movie started dragging me into it. I thought everything about the movie from the tint of the screen to the blatant violence was beautifully done, and the plot, though eccentric, was powerfully moving. The ending did not satisfy me at first, but I grew to love it.[/worshipperofthelabyrinth
*attempts to justify this being in the 'Stardust' thread*:
Claire Danes is beautiful in Stardust, especially with her hair up.

Claire Danes is stunning. Period.
I also love swashbucklers.

| It's been forever since I've posted on here, but I came to the forum to see if anyone else had seen and loved this movie. I think it's my favorite I've seen all year! I loved the whole story (I went and bought the book after seeing the movie twice, and loved that as well), the chemistry between Claire and Charlie was excellent, although I don't support homosexuality, Robert DeNiro's character wasn't obnoxious or overdone, so I thought it was okay, and Michelle Pfeiffer was great too. I'd recommend it to anyone!

| I love that "Frodo" has replied to the fantasy movie post!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have yet to see it, and was hoping to win movie tickets in a raffle at work today. Unfortunately, I'll have to pony up for this one.
