Garnett Trade

so it finally went down, Garnett is heading out of mn and half the Celtics team is coming back along with two 2009 1st rounders. I'm sad to see Garnett leave but excited to have some new faces and new possiblities. The fact was that if we (the T-Wolves) woulda ever got anywhere it was when KG had Cassell and Sprewell, despite the fact that KG is in the top 5 in the NBA. Its going to be a while yet before the Wolves are going to be able to do anything but when you have guys like Randy Foye, Al Jefferson, Cory Brewer, and Gerald Green ready to step up, and some loose change in a year or two to pick up some veterans, the future has to look better. Reminds me of the Bulls, when everyone was young, they sucked but now they are making noise in the playoffs. Overall, I would say this is a good thing for Minnesota but it isn't going to show right away. Anyone else's thoughts?

Until Ray Allen and Paul Pierce both get injured, leaving KG with a wonderful feeling of Deja Vu

But, if at least one of them can stay healthy, they've got a good chance of being a very good team. And, KG's going to have a much better chance of winning in the East then in the West.

I think the T-Wolves made the right move. KG isn't getting any younger, and it seems that it'll take a couple years for them to get their young players all clicking. I think they'll be good in a couple years.

BTW, the actual deal is (from Yahoo):
Boston sent the Minnesota Timberwolves forwards Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes and Gerald Green, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, two first-round draft picks and cash considerations.

Geez. Kevin Garnett for all of that. The C's mortgaged their future for the possibility of maybe doing something now. Problem is, Garnett is not as good as he used to be.

Garnett isn't any worse yet, he was better this year in points and rebounds per game and shot .835 from the line. I would have to assume it wont be long till he does start to decline but I dont think it will happen this year.

Remember, this is the LEastern conference. They could win it with Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Bill Cosby and Bob Barker.
