| I can't give this one a 10, but I maintain that this is the best Christian metalcore band in existence.
The drummer is absurdly good- the whole thing is ridiculously intense, and the new singer is positively excellent. If you like As I lay Dying, Destroy the Runner, and all those bands...you have to listen to August Burns Red. |

| I gave it a 9. The drummer is wickedly awesome, and the music is very well done. It can get a little repetitive though. But overall, a great album. |

| Pretty good, the drums are indeed awesome, but too much of the breakdowns should be more inventive - instead of just heavy palm muting.
The vocals have improved in my opinion, with just enough chants and spoken parts to satisfy the fan of melodic metal that I am. |

| Thrill Seeker is the better album. Jake Luhrs is better than the old vocalist, but it just wasn't quite the same. The breakdowns were so repetitve...I felt like they were just trying to assault my ears instead of create a compelling metal experience.
And I still loved it. Because ABR has mad skills. Every metalcore fan should get this cd and Thrill Seeker if they don't already have it...August Burns Red sets the bar high. |

| My favorite part of this disc is when it gets real deep in the third song (near the end, whatever that song is called). It kinda makes me excited. These guys are great. I don't think its as repetitive as you guys are saying, but I guess they could do a bit more. Its pretty intense the whole way through which is a definite plus. A 8.

| Having listened to this cd a million times, it really isn't as repetitive as it may have seemed at first. There's a decent amount of standout songs and the ones that aren't a work of creative genius are still amazing all their own.
Again I say, go get it. They're the best. |

| I didnt find this Cd as catchy and all as Thrill Seeker, and the drumming isnt as impressive as Thrill Seeker, but overall I think this Cd is more metal with the better vocalist and all. I saw them last year not long after they got Jake and it was one of the most intense shows id ever seen.
But yeah, its a bit repettitive too, but still really awesome |

That said, the drums to "Vital Signs" are ridiculously hard. |

I was really worried about a new vocalist, but he is respectable, a really good vocalist. Though I still like the last one considerably more, but the new guy does no damage to Messengers.
Drum work is top notch, guitars are top notch, bass is good, vox are good, rythm guitar sucks.
Yes, you heard me, the rythm sucks. Everything else on this album kicks butt, but give me a break!
My first thought after i listened to the full album: "That was one long song"
The reason why this album has any repetativeness in it, is the rythm guitar. its the same thing throughout the entire album, palm mute, palm mute, palm mute, palm mute, palm mute, palm mute, palm mute. Nearly the same style in every song as well.
Come on, can't you play a riff now and then? I can not listen to the whole album anymore, i am driven crazy about half way through, because of the excessive palm muting.
But, other than that, this album is unbelievable, easily one of the greatest i've heard.
But, I still prefer Thrill Seeker, because that has more stand out songs, more memorable songs, more individual.
But, Messengers is a fantastic fallow up, besides the annoying constant palm muting.
these guys are amazing regardless.
