I made no such assumption of people not reading their bibles.
However, there was a man once who thought he was such a strong christian.
However, this man ended up denying Christ three times.
Now do you wish to say your better than Peter?

I do not see how anyones posts here don't pertain to the questions put forward? They however may not be the answer he was looking for. It like reading the bible with an agenda or reading it without an agenda. In the end each one of must decide for ourselves what music is okay to listen to? Are we trying to read the bible with an agenda to excuse something we desire to do, like listening to the music we want? I believe that is a wrong way to read or use the bible.

So, you don't read the bible with an agenda?

That is the presumption behind you remark.

I am in the EXACT same boat as Peter...a sinner saved by grace. So are you.

No it a struggle with me too, the flesh and the spirit. I desire to read without an agenda, but Satan is always there wanting to encourage one in me.

I was a Sinner and the Saved by Grace, I am now a Saint ! I am no longer defined as a Sinner. I am dead to sin and free of the power it had over me. Yes, I sin for I am still wretched, but I am no longer Wicked, as I desire not to sin and repent when I fail. I am a sinner , but not a Sinner, because the rightousness of Christ had made me a Saint.

the old saying is "garbage in garbage out" I like bands like aero smith or journey but I rarely listen to them since I was saved in 1984 I like Christian artist like casting crowns, Chris tomlin so the thought that music in itself is bad is foolish thought but the lyrics in music can be bad acdc hells bells or shoot to thrill have influenced kids to take their lives when you listen you tend to sing the lyrics ( Christian ....worship God....secular..a lot of times worship the beast rolling stones her satanic majesty...) I would rather worship God rather than satan so I choose Christian music over any and all secular music
