Yeah, it took me a long time to get internet in my apartment. Hopefully you will have better luck.

Funny, when we moved, Suddenlink (Cox Cable) came out a day after we called. Embarq (Sprint) took a bit more time.

Alright quick update. Still no movers yet. I'm gonna give them a call a bit later to find out what the deal is. Still no cable/internet/phone. I guess the wires have been cut somewhere, but they run through someone elses apartment. The tech has to refer me to someone who deals with multiple dwelling units, and they're gonna have to call my apartment to get permission to go through other peoples apartments to fix my cable. So that all probably won't happen until later. I'm still stealing bandwidth from someone in the building with a belkin wireless router.

I revisited my school on Thursday. Man, I can't wait to start classes!

I went to church last night. Get this, the guy that founded my old church (my mom and I were there way back then too), has a new church about 20 minutes away. Not only that, but the worship leader that I played with for 2 or 3 years, just moved to the area 6 or 7 months ago and is going to that church as well. And it gets even better, the worship leader at the new church has a studio in his house and works as a full time producer! Haha. I may have found a church. Well, we'll see, I still want to go to that one I mentioned in downtown a while ago. It seems pretty awesome. Maybe I'll end up going to both, who knows.

I think those are the big things... I think I start working sometime next week, but I'm not sure. I should probably find out.

So, I just said the big goodbye to my parents. They leave early tomorrow morning, so I won't see them. It feels weird. Knowing that's the last time I'll see them until December.

They handled it better than I expected... of course, I'm not in the hotel room right now. Haha.

So, that's it. I'm off on my own! Still no furniture, no cable, stealing internet from an unsuspecting neighbor.

Speaking of neighbors, I bumped into (literally) the girl that lives across from me on my way up the stairs today. Well, actually I guess it was her friend who's staying with her for a bit. I told the friend I had just moved in and she told me to stop by sometime this week and say hi to them. So.. that's kinda cool I guess. She seemed nice.

Update time... This time by category!

Furniture/apartment stuff: This should all hopefully get here Friday! Or so they say. It's funny... you don't realize how much you actually need some of your stuff (ie cooking utensils) until you don't have them. I'm sick of sandwiches. I made a very unsuccessful attempt at making a frozen pizza... Aluminum foil does conduct heat like a cookie sheet does. The pizza was very unevenly cooked. I was so sick of this crap that I went out and got Outback to go tonight. It wasn't until I got home that I realized how hard it is to eat a steak and salad on the floor.

Cable/Internet/Phone: Well, they're supposed to repair the line on Friday... Which means they probably won't install it until sometime next week. Blah.. You have no idea how boring it is sitting in an apartment with no furniture, no TV, no internet (I wasn't able to connect to my neighbors wifi all day for some reason), and movies you've seen 5 times already. Thankfully I have a couple books too, and when I can connect to the internet, I can watch movies or tv shows online illegally.

Work: Work is pretty good. The people (both coworkers and customers!) are really nice. The best part about work though is that they have a massage chair thing on display in the waiting area, so when we have no work to do, I can go sit there and try to repair the damage I did to my back this last week of sleeping on the floor/airbed.

School: Orientation for school starts Friday! Woo! I can't wait to get going with this stuff.

Church: I've only been to my old pastors church thus far. I'm planning on visiting the Anchor sometime soon as there will hopefully be some people my age there. Which leads me too...

Friends: None yet! But, I haven't been to school yet, I haven't been to a church with people my own age, and there's a big swing dance competition in downtown Nashville this weekend where I can hopefully meet people. So yeah several opportunities I hope.

That's all the stuff I can think of for now...

Antioch specifically.

Where Bell (also known as old hickory) road and Murfreesboro road meet is about 2 minutes from my apartment. If you know the area well, you may know of the mall.. Hickory Hollow Mall. I'm literally 3 blocks from it.

Which reminds me. They changed my address on me. It's now

Michael Gustin
201 Hickory Hollow Terrace
Antioch, Tn 37013

Send me stuff! All I've gotten so far is junk mail.

I was in Antioch in early July helping my brother return his U-hual. He lives less than 10 minutes from there.

It's amazing how much boredom can effect you.

I tried to create some music last night on my laptop, and I couldn't come up with ANYTHING not even a hint of an idea. I didn't even feel like playing guitar. I feel sooooo lethargic. First it starts with wanting to do something, but not really being able to do anything. Then it moves to finding stuff to do, but not feeling like doing it. My guess is that death probably shortly follows that last one. At least I have orientation for school tomorrow. That should help curb some boredom. Plus getting a new laptop in a week or so will help.

What tripped me up about Nashville was how everywhere closed so early. It was nuts.

Ahh so it wasn't just me thinking that!

I went to Best Buy the other night, and it was 9:10, and they were already closed. I couldn't believe it.

Haha so true. It's weird being in the Bible Belt.

Man, Donnie Darko is pretty much one of the most amazing movies ever. Goodness I love it. Out of boredom this week, I've bought/rented SO many movies it's insane... Lets see... Anchorman, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (I've seen all of those at least twice... the first two I've seen 3 and 4 times respectively). I rented Blades of Glory (watched twice), 300 (watched 3 times), and Hot fuzz (twice). And I bought Donnie Darko today (I've seen it numerous times previously, but I finally decided to buy it today).

Oh, and Eisley's new CD is way awesome.
