| I just got engaged We've known each other for 8 months and there's no doubt in my mind that she's the one. Things are hard for us right now because we live 1000 miles apart, but we've spent several months together in Missouri and she just came out here to connecticut for a visit and to meet my family. Last Friday I asked her to marry me on a beautiful day near the shore. We had talked about it a lot, but this time I gave her a ring I bought completely in secret. We still don't know the date because it depends on if we can go to the same school - we want to go off to finish our last two years of college together, otherwise we'll have to wait.
Can anyone give me any advice on what comes next? I know there's a lot of planning that will be going on, and her mother is more than anxious to start I'll be working full time next spring since I finish my associates in the fall, but other than saving and planning, what do I need to know? |

| w00t!!!! Very exciting!!!
All the old time CGRs are getting married. My wife and I were 1,200 miles apart when we were dating. It was awful. Of course, it made getting married and living together even better.
Once you're engaged then starts the long and grueling planning process. If you decide to get married in the next 5 months, then you'll have a really chaotic and busy 5 months (...thats what I decided to do). The planning involves make lots of decisions regarding things you've probably never thought about, but your wife and both mothers have thought about. At least that was my experience. |

| YAY! Congratulations!!! Wow, Sean is right...all these old-timers are getting/have gotten married! So very exciting! Congrats again!
What comes next? Haha, LOTS of stuff...but first you need to decide/figure out if you are going to the same school, because that will determine a lot. I am sure your fiancee and her mom have some idea of what comes next. |

| Congrats! Yeah, planning a wedding is the most insane and intense thing that I think I've ever done. As Sean said, we were 1200 miles apart while we were dating and, after we got engaged, I then moved to South Carolina to be closer to him (makes things like pre-marital counseling a bit easier). However, our wedding was going to be in Texas, so I planned everything long-distance. Insanity. I know I was (and still am, of course) really in love, because I would have never put myself through all that otherwise!
Seriously, though, it's such a fun time -- enjoy it! But it's pretty likely that your future wife and her friends, mother, and pretty much any females that she's close with have thought about what comes next...the tricky part is figuring out what you are really interested in being involved in, as far as the planning part goes...Congratulations again on your new engagement!!!

Yup, it's true. I just saved a lot of money on my car insurance by *not* switching to Geico. ::gushes::
haha But seriously... Congrats!

Actually it's worship at lots of camps and churches and other venues. But "worship star" just doesn't sound right...
