(Nashville, Tenn.) July 19, 2007 – Best-selling Inpop Records duo Shane & Shane and BEC Records’ artist/producer/composer Bebo Norman announce the dates for the “Pages Tour 2007” that features special guest and Sparrow Records artist Shawn McDonald.
The tour launches Aug. 21, seven days before the release of Shane & Shane’s first studio album in nearly three years, Pages, and travels to over 45 cities, including such major markets as Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, San Diego, Phoenix, St. Louis and more before wrapping up Nov. 17 in Atlanta, GA. “With the release of the new record we feel like it’s a fresh start, and we couldn’t be more ready to hit the road and share where our hearts have been these past few years,” says Barnard.
“I feel like we’re in a better place than we’ve ever been,” adds Everett, “and we’re especially excited to be spending time on the road with Bebo and Shawn.”
“The Shanes and I have talked for years about touring together and I couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally worked out,” says Bebo Norman. “Shawn McDonald and I had the chance to tour together a few years ago, so I have no doubt that the Pages Tour will be an amazing pairing of music and relationships. Selfishly, this is a tour that I’ve looked forward to for months now.”
Shane & Shane will be playing fan favorites and new songs from Pages, which they co-produced and recorded at their successful Spaceway Studios in Dallas, TX. The album was named for a reference to the journal pages on which Barnard wrote much of the album and features the radio single currently climbing the charts, “We Love You Jesus.”
Shane Barnard & Shane Everett
Shane Everett and Shane Barnard formed Shane & Shane soon after a mutual friend asked Everett if Barnard could borrow a guitar for a concert in 1997. In December 2001, they signed with Inpop Records, home to such notable acts as newsboys, Superchick, Mat Kearney, Tree63 and others. Since then, the acoustic-guitar wielding vocalists have become a college-circuit favorite with five label releases to its credit, hundreds of thousands of albums sold, Dove Award nominations, plus countless hours logged on the road, including headlining tours with Mat Kearney, David Crowder Band, Bethany Dillon, Robbie Seay Band, among others. The duo can also be found leading worship for the college Bible study at Grand Prairie Bible Church in Grand Prairie, TX.
Tour co-headliner Bebo Norman, has created songs that have impacted millions of people around the world. His numerous recordings have yielded a bevy of accolades including two No. 1 radio singles, seven Top 5 radio singles, a Dove Award, more than ten Dove Award nominations and extensive media coverage.
His most recent project, Between the Dreaming and the Coming True, was lauded by media publications including Billboard Magazine which stated, “Hope and turmoil are two very different forces, yet they beautifully co-exist and poignantly intertwine on this stunning collection of songs… In a warm and strong voice, Norman admits that life ain’t easy, but listening to this album will make you feel better about the journey.” Norman also releases his first solo Christmas album Oct. 2, which will be available for pre-sale on the tour until it releases.
On September 25th Shawn McDonald releases ROOTS, his third studio album, following two critically acclaimed studio efforts and two successful live recordings. McDonald connects with a global audience with transparently disarming lyrics and a creatively utilitarian musical style. His own personal story is a testimony of abandonment, despair, hope and redemption and his songs are molded from that same block of clay. His honesty and willing approach to all things artful, inspires the artist in all of us.
Shawn and his wife Kate recently spent time in Zimbabwe with World Vision, learning about the culture and the people, photographing, writing and searching for ways to connect and affect people of Africa.
