You Tube as a Resource

I dunno why it took me a year to figure this out. I've recently found You Tube to be a good resource for new worship music.

If you do a song search by title or title and artist, you can often find multiple postings of the original artists version of the song, various people interpreting how they play the song, and in many cases, a video of folks using the song in their church services.

I've seen "Mighty To Save" listed often in the song selection threads so I just did a You Tube search to check it out. There is a drum workshop on it, a guitar tutorial on it, and multiple versions of it posted by people showing how they play it. Here's one dude's interpretation of the song for example:

Here is the guitar workshop:

I checked on some other songs I have on my "Potential List" and was able to find something for every single one. We're getting ready to roll out "Everlasting God" and I found this example of someone introducing it in their church. One of many examples:

And this guy making a video to teach it to his praise team

Ya learn something new every day...

Yeah, it is a good resource. I've been using it for awhile because one of the guys on my worship team told me about it. I think the first thing he showed me was a Leeland video of them doing a song in a Chick Fil-A or something.

Excellent information! Yeah... should have thought of that. I learned "I Walk by Faith" from a reecording I found on the internet of a church team who did it very well... but that was in the days before You Tube. I'll be checking it frequently now.

I use it from time to time when I need to hear a recording of a song that I don't have access to. I did this when I was learning "Grace Like Rain" and "Wonderful Maker"

Yup, I started using it to track down songs that I'd sung at festivals and wanted to bring to my own church.

OK, I'm not buying the CD, but the writer still gets the CCLI payment!!
