I found a way around having to do the verses in Awesome God (I don't like them, especially the first, and neither does the pastor). Intro Humble Thyself, and go right into Awesome God chorus. Its a nice closer.

If you're talking about that "When He rolls up His sleeves He ain't just puttin on the Ritz" part, LOL. We've never done either of the verses either.

We do an instrumental build on the choruses. First the piano plays a chorus solo, slow and delicate, then I come in with the guitar the second time, then the bass and drums come in the third time, then the forth time the vocals come in. You can just feel the tension building and when the vocals finally come in, it's very powerful. We'll sing through the chorus a few times and then do it one more time acapello, then finish out back to the piano only again. I think this is similar to the way Michael W. Smith did it a few years back on either the "Worship" or the "Worship Again" live albums.

It's a congregational favorite.

Hillsong United on their CD "Look To You" does a great job on that song as well.

I still have no clue why we're ending with "Lord Reign in Me" week after week. I know sometimes we a song every week for a few weeks because it's new or because it is part of the theme from the sermon series...I don't feel like this song is either...
