On Philosophy/Reason.
Without Reason where would we be?
I really haven’t met someone who is against Philosophy/Reason…
On Faith.
. Nonsense. I think faith is bolstered by my questions.
But how do you know that what you have faith in is true?
It seems to me that the only way you can know what you have faith in is true is by asking questions and constantly seeking after God.
On Truth.
If you don’t ask questions you won’t find the truth, I mean think about it if we went on assumptions and not interrogation how many people would end up in jail that were innocent, or be free and guilty?
People who say you need to have faith and not ask questions don’t know what they’re saying
On Questions.
When thinking about my stand on this I reflect back to the “Sunday school” class that I am currently enrolled in. We don’t ask questions in class, nor do we promote discussion because our teacher has his beliefs and all he is focused on are those and he’s not open to anything new, so though we may have discussion for 5 minutes in the end he always directs it back to how he believes and that that is the only way that God will bless you fully (not said in those terms but basically how he makes you feel) causing us to be filled with questions on issues but not wanting to ask them for 1. We will get a biased answer, and 2. Seeing as we know it’s a biased answer we’re practically left with more questions.
On Discussion.
This where we get the term, having the faith of your parents. I mean think about it, without discussion on issues you have no idea any other way to believe other than what you’re taught, even though they say we can’t make it to heaven on our parents faith, what other faith are we taught? I mean besides what we get at church, but typically we’re going to a church that is of the same beliefs as our parents, so in reality as much as they discourage us from living the faith of our parents, that’s all that they are teaching us and thus all that we know how to live out. That is why we need discussion, so that we can have faith other than that of what our parents have taught us
On Doubting
Will are you gay?
Anyways….
The reason why God gives us doubt is so that we can place our faith fully in him
On Interpreting the Bible.
In reality as long as you don’t interpret the Bible incorrectly causing people to turn from the faith, what does it matter if there is a difference in opinion? We all believe in the same God so we technically should all be going to the same heaven. What’s the reason to bicker and argue over the difference in opinion when we could be out sharing the gospel?
On Salvation.
I’m with Jeff on this one
On the Emergent Church.
Once again, if we all believe in the same God, What does it matter?
On Politics.
It’s not what party it’s what they believe and what their goals are that matters
