Who's Now?

ESPN has come up with a 32 person bracket-style competition to see who the ultimate sports superstar is, from Tiger Woods, to Derek Jeter. heres a link to see who's in it and to vote for tomorrow's match-up: Tiger Woods( 1st round pick) vs. Matt Leinart( 8th round pick):http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=whosnow

How are they making these determinations? How exactly can you compare Reggie Bush with Danica Patrick? Or Dwyane Wade with Shaun White?

the ESPN board( not reporters that you see on TV) made these determinations. kinda screwed up IMO, but we cant change that, all we can do is vote.

Tiger Woods(1) def. Matt Leinart(8) on Sunday with 90% of the votes, and Dwayne Wade(4) def. Shaun White(5) on Monday with 73% of the votes. This means that it'll be Tiger vs. Wade next time around. for now, its LT(2) vs. David Beckham(7). IMO, LT gets 65%+ of the votes.

I think it's all in fun...

Oh, and I can't believe we actually have to vote on LaDanian vs. Beckham. Puh-lease.

In America, LT wins. Anywhere else in the world, it's Beckham by a landslide.

I think this should be in sports, not movies/TV.

You're right...this fits better in Sports.

I watched their portion of the show on it the other day...when it was D.Wade vs. Shawn White. Wade won ONLY because basketball's more popular. White dominates his sport and has more championships & medals than Wade. But, no-one on their even really knew who he was when they were talking about it. They basically said "Flash" vs. "The Flying Tomato" hmmmmm, tough question. You know what I mean? I think the whole thing is skewed. I'm betting either a Basketball, Football player, or Tiger Woods wins it.

ESPN must really be hurting, because this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. A panel of people talking about this? I think I would rather watch ESPN news for a couple of hours in a row rather than this junk.

Well, I think it is somewhat interesting. It's just a popularity contest, since 70% is determined by fan voting.

Hmmm...Steve Nash just beat out Venus (or was it Serena?) Williams.
Kind of sad when you look at titles. Steve is amazing...but he hasn't won a championship. Venus has won how many? A ton.

Peyton Manning vs. Amanda Beard. I wonder where this is going to go? Peyton will win by a landslide. The only reason Beard will get consideration is because of her Playboy appearence. That's the only thing the Sports Center guys kept coming back to. Despite the fact that she's won a ton of Olympic medals & championships. I really don't like it, but I guess it's probably good for ratings.

Peyton Manning should win it all. He has had tons of good seasons and is just coming off the super bowl win. Then you look at his personallity, appearing in 9,834 commercials and SNL.
