CPF was the second forum I ever modded.

My first mod request was for Testimonies/Sharing, which I still mod. That was sometime after I'd been a member for close to a year.

Is that chart Chris posted really accurate? Was I really only a smod for about a year and a half? It felt like it was longer than that. Everything feels like it lasts longer when you're younger, though, I think.

You sure have. I think I may have had just a bit more fun though, as I was mod alongside Slopers. And I think Andrew, for a bit. And of course, the everpresent Sheriff JC.

There was a situation with longstanding members not heeding me for awhile. The CPF humor was much more raw at the time and it was awful cleaning up lots of the crap that was posted. I don't know how it is now, as I'm seeing the edited version, but believe me, I went through an awful stretch. I have never seen anywhere near the amount of bickering, baited comments and innuendo anywhere on CGR as I did in CPF at the time of my modship.

Sure, there were fun times to be had, like crazy-posting in a closed thread that Andrew renamed "Moderator's Playground" and editing a whole thread of Kepa's posts so that he was BURNINATED. However, once the bad outweighed the good getting out became a priority. When moderating a forum takes an emotional toll on you... it's time to move on.

CPF doesn't seem too bad these days. There's just a lot of parody threads... and spam. Quite a bit of spam.

By the way. Here's a thread that popped up around when that demod thread was still sitting around in the mod request forum. That's probably the best explanation of what was going on at the time.
