Hello! *is subscribing* Oh - by the way - I love your blog title. Because I love those things, too. Red licorice, not black. | Hello Hello! Welcome to my blog! The paint color was a sort of indescribable muddy green. It conjured up feelings of dirty spinach...or something.
It's cool we like the same stuff!! Except I was talking about black licorice, it simply rocks! Red is delicious as well though.
Time to head over to your blog to subscribe! After I update here of course.
Ok so a ton has happened since I last posted.
Saturday June 30th:
We moved all the rest of Chris and Rachel's furniture and stuff into their new apartment. The place looks gorgeous! We also ran by Pier 1 and I bought a nice housewarming gift for them. Then we ate supper and went swimming with Christian's sister and her family. I got home and stayed up til 3 again repainting the bathroom and hanging the mirror and whatnot with my mom. We ended up having to paint that room three times! Once with the yucky color, once with white, and finally with a mixture of the two, which thankfully ended up being perfect!
Sunday July 1st:
We had a bridal shower for Rachel at our house, and it went great. I'll post some pics later when I'm at home. By around 8 p.m everyone had left and I went over to Ryan's house to see him and wish his mom a happy birthday. His parents and sister and he and I talked for a long while about a situation that I'm in and they gave me some good advice. Once I was back home I wrote the last couple of pages of my research paper and went to bed.
Monday July 2nd:
Went to work, went to class, turned in my paper, got my test grade back
(106!!), went back to work, yadda yadda, don't really remember what else.
Tuesday July 3rd:
Most of the day passed by doing who knows what. Later Chris and Rachel and some of their friends and I went to go see Transformers (Ryan was at work ) We absolutely LOVED it! My only complaint was that I thought a few of the lines and jokes were innappropriate for a movie that so many kids will be watching. (Like the part about Sam's "happy time") After the movie we all went to IHOP and stayed until 1 in the morning chatting. I got the chicken florentine and it was scrumptious! Then Ryan came by the house after he got off work to say goodnight. Hooray for thoughtful sweethearts!
4th of July:
Did this and that, went to go see Transformers again, but with Ryan this time. Halfway through the film the power went off in the theater and some guy in the back started making shadow puppets over the screen. It was hilarious! We were all rofling...well...almost. Fun Fun.
Thursday July 5th:
Pretty nondescript I think. *edit* It probably wasn't nondescript, I'm just experiencing some minor amnesia concerning that day.
Friday July 6th:
Went to go take my final, it was pretty hard and I still haven't gotten my grade back yet. It only took me 30 minutes to complete though, and I really don't know if that's good or bad. Had the wedding rehearsal in the evening. Everything went well (despite the intense humidity) and the dinner afterwards was really fun (not to mention yummy). Afterwards Ryan and I and Moy and Michelle (awesome friends/married couple/best man and matron of honor) and Chris and Rache went back to their new apartment and hung out for a while.
Saturday 7/7/07:
The big day!! And...I will come back and post about it soon!

| Before I continue the update, let me post some pics!
1. The bathroom at Chris and Rachel's new apartment, decorated in the chocolate brown and slate blue I love so much.
2. The vase I bought for them, plus the other items I picked out at Pier 1.
3. View from the dining room into the living room.
4. Rachel at her bridal shower. I had to photoshop the background, because some ppl were moving around and they came out with no faces...
5. Me on 7-7-07 with the first fake eyelashes I've ever gotten. My mom said I looked like Lucille Ball, Twiggy, or a clown...

| Ok...I'm back at work with nothing to do... so here I am, ready to post!
7/7/07:
I spent the early part of the day just chatting with my oldest sister and playing with my nephew Nathan. Around 4:30 I drove to the makeup artist's house where Rachel was getting her makeup done. When I got there, I found out that some girl pulling out of her driveway had hit Michelle's parked car! The corner of Michelle's relatively new car was all smashed in. Then when I went inside Rachel said that she had forgotten to bring cash and asked me to run to an atm to get her some money. So I trotted (i.e. drove) off to find an atm, and then rushed back feeling quite useful. After getting my makeup done, I didn't recognize myself and promptly washed off most of it, so I ended up spending 45 bucks to get fake eyelashes and some eyeshadow. /whine> Then I high-tailed it back to my house, where I helped Ryan put on his cuff links and his bowtie before heading off to the residence where Rachel's wedding was going to take place. By this time, it was already 6:15, and the wedding was set for 7:00. for the next 45 minutes I rushed about madly getting my dress on, helping Adrienne dress Nati, helping Rachel get dressed, etc., etc.
The ceremony seemed to go by in a flash, and everything went very smoothly. I was just thinking, "Whoah, Rachel is really getting married!" She looked so happy and beautiful. After the ceremony a huge dark thundercloud rolled over, and we were all sure it was going to start pouring, but thank God it didn't! Dinner was delicious, all the guests were so sweet, and overall fun was had by all. Almost all of our family on my Mom's family made it, but not one person from my Dad's side was able to come because they all live out-of-state. When it was almost time for Rachel and Chris to head off, I realized that no one had decorated their car! So we rummaged around for some shaving gel and got it decorated at the last second! After most everyone had left, my mom and I and some others had to clean up and pack up all the presents to take home. We didn't get home til around 1:00 I think, and we were exhausted. What a day!

Hey! You live in Texas!

It sounded like fake eyelashes are the only thing you wear to your performances. Quote:

I've lived in Texas all my life. Someday I'd love to live somewhere with forests and cooler weather!
Well my new schedule started, and now I'm just working two 10 hour days a week. It's quite lovely to have five days off in a row. I've been reading a lot, working out, and spending time with Ryan. I work tomorrow though, and I'm not looking forward to have to get up early!
I've already seen Order of the Phoenix twice, and I really think it's the best HP movie so far. I just recently got interested in HP, so I rented all the movies and quite enjoyed them. I want to read all the books, but they're all checked out at our library. I did get to check out Tolkien's The Children of Húrin and Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Well, I'm going to eat supper and watch an old movie with my Mom now.
Toodles!

| I like some parts of Texas. And I don't like others. I'm refraining from saying which ones in case anyone is from, or currently living there.
Five days off sounds so nice. I wish I could do that.

I won't get offended if you don't like where I live, many don't. Besides, it's likely you've never been to my town (Laredo). So which parts do you like? I personally think the hill country area is quite nice. Quote:

I just got back from Chris and Rachel's apartment, I ended up heading over there for supper. We just hung out for a while watching TV, and now I'm back! The sky was absolutely gorgeous when I drove over; I was wishing I had my camera with me to capture the beauty for posterity.
I should be getting to bed since I have to wake up at 6:30 tomorrow, but I'm still wide awake. That's what happens when you sleep in til cough12:30cough.

A little bit outside of Houston towards Louisiana.
And actually the only place I really don't like is El Paso. And Dallas seemed way too crowded when I went through the last time. Quote: |

I'm surprised you've been here! Most people I meet online haven't even heard of Laredo. I don't think I've been to Beaumont, but I have been to the Sam Houston National Forest outside of Houston. I remember it was really nice. Quote:

| Hello, there. This blog seems cool.
I must admit, though, I find other peoples' lives fascinating... in the most non-stalker way possible. |

| So my mom woke up last night when I was on youtube and ended up watching some videos with me (of Esmee Denters) at 1:30 in the morning. We're an odd bunch.
It was really hard for me to get to sleep last night. I was tossing and turning and I was thinking about a bunch of stuff, so I did what often works for me: I flipped my pillow over to the foot of the bed and slept backwards, or upside-down or whatever you want to call it. My cat Shadow was looking at me strangely from her spot on the bed, but hey, I fell asleep.
And hooray! I woke up promptly at 6:30 when my alarm went off and actually got up! I read my Bible, ate some cereal and half a pear, washed the cup and spoon I used, checked myspace and CGR, got ready, fixed my bed, packed my lunch (can of tuna, can of asparagus, and some grapes), talked to my mom, brought in the paper, and then headed off to work!
It's only been two hours and I've delivered 10 inter-office mail envelopes around campus, dropped off a check at the Business office, and picked up a Fed-Ex form at the mail room. It started raining when I was going to the Business office and I got soaked. Now I'm back in the office, wet and shivering.

| A few pics taken today on my cell-phone, hence the bad quality.
1. A BIG grasshopper I came across on a wall when I was running my errands.
2. The awesome cloud formations after the rain.
3. My odd "I got caught in the rain" smile.
