#1 | | Registered User | Enter The Worship Circle Does anybody use any of their songs for congregational worship? After getting a little burntout on the plastic feeling of the Passion crew (minus David Crowder), they were a breath of fresh air (if the Tomlin crowd is your thing, no offence intended). Their songs feel so sincere, and their willingness to embrace simplicity (in song, recording, everything) is awesome.
If you do use any of their stuff for worship, what songs? |

| Both Ben and Barry are personal friends of mine. Ben at one time was involved at Cathedral Of The Cross where I now attend and play guitar and both lived here in Birmingham for several years.
Yes I have used a number of Worship circle songs in corperate Worship. My favorites are I will Not Forget You and You are So Good to me .

| We've used Praise Awaits You a few times. It's good for more intimate smaller stuff than congregational worship, IMO. |

| if you're playing their stuff exactly like their recordings, i don't think it works well for larger settings. i've adapted I Will Not Forget You to incorporate some more rock-style electric guitar, and have used it regularly for larger congregational settings. i've always been of the opinion that any good song can be reduced down to one person with an acoustic guitar, and therefore, by extension, a song with simple, stripped down instrumentation can be used in a less spartan setting.
to answer the question more directly: i really like the Worship Circle stuff. it's a nice change from the glossy stadium style that a lot of worship groups tend to write and record in, and i think being that stripped down makes the songs a lot more open and therefore a lot more potent.

Earlier this year, we also added "I Don't Know" to the mix of stuff we do full band style, and it's fit quite well. |
