20.How Great Thou Art
21.Better Is One Day
22.Draw Me Close
23.Lord Reign In Me
24.The Wonderful Cross
25.Indescribable
How many are you doing? How many are in "regular rotation"? How many have you done but are long since forgotten?
For us, we haven't done "Blessed be Your Name", "Lord I lift Your Name on High", "God of Wonders", "You are my All in All", "Above All", or "The Wonderful Cross" in over a year or more.
We've never done (in my 2+ years) "The Heart of Worship", "Beautiful One", "Draw Me Close" and "Indescribable" and I don't think I'm familiar with "You are worthy of my Praise" unless it has an alt. title.
The rest are all occasionally done, maybe once every 6 months or so.

| We're doing about 80% of them. They are all still pretty new to us as just 2 short years ago, our church was a traditional hymn church. The previous worship leader exclusively used CCLI's Song Select to choose music from. I took over late last year. Right or wrong, I have not been relying on it that much as some of the songs that I've had the best results with aren't even in the CCLI top 100.
"You're worthy of my Praise" is also known as "I will Worship".
It's the one with the echos
I will worship (Echo) I will worship
With all of my heart (Echo) With all of my heart
And I will praise You (Echo) I will praise You
With all of my strenght (Echo) All my strenght.
Etc etc... |

| Bold - songs we do in regular/semi-regular rotation underlined - songs I know, but my church has not done in the last year (we picked up a new worship leader about a year ago) italics - songs that we have dropped from rotation
normal - songs I don't know. 1.How Great Is Our God 2.Here I Am To Worship 3.Blessed Be Your Name 4.Open The Eyes Of My Heart 5.Shout To The Lord (very sparingly) 6.Lord I Lift Your Name On High 7.Come Now Is The Time To Worship 8.You Are My King 9.Forever
10.Holy Is The Lord 11.God Of Wonders 12.Breathe (very sparingly) 13.We Fall Down 14.You Are My All In All 15.You're Worthy Of My Praise
16.The Heart Of Worship
17.Trading My Sorrows
18.Above All
19.Beautiful One 20.How Great Thou Art 21.Better Is One Day 22.Draw Me Close
23.Lord Reign In Me 24.The Wonderful Cross
25.Indescribable
---------------------
Now of those underlined, I'd like for us to add the following to rotation.
3.Blessed Be Your Name
11.God Of Wonders (sparingly)
16.The Heart Of Worship (sparingly)
19.Beautiful One
21.Better Is One Day
24.The Wonderful Cross
---------------------
Of those bolded (in current rotation) the songs I wouldn't mind dropping entirely, or at least using them much less than we do:
7.Come Now Is The Time To Worship
12.Breathe
14.You Are My All In All
22.Draw Me Close
23.Lord Reign In Me |

I think we did that a few weeks ago. It's another 'once in a while'er.

| We do 19 or 20 of these 25. However, we have between 90-100 songs in our "library" right now, so I pretty much just keep adding on. We do them all at one point or another in the year, but do not repeat very often unless specifically requested. There are the top 10 or so that really minister to folks hearts in our church and those get played a lot more often. Lately, that has been "How Can I Keep From Singing Your Praise". I guess we do simpler songs. |

| I forgot to mention, and I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but one of the first things I did when I took over as Worship Leader was put "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" on hiatus until further notice with no ETA for return. The first year our church went contemporary, the previous leader used it like every three weeks. I received a round of applause from the entire praise team when I made the announcement.. |

| It amazes me that people still use Shout To The Lord in regular rotation, or All In All for that matter. Both are great songs, but I always thought people were more into novelty.

The church I just left was doing none of those...with the exception of How Great Thou Art. |

It remains ever popular with the older (40+) folks however so I put it in 2 or 3 times a year. Since I took it out of frequent rotation, it's become more enjoyable. It still gets a great response and lots of hands in the air. I've come to realize that like classic rock, some of these oldies are going to be around forever until everyone that loves them has gone home to sing with the saints and angels.

Both are great songs, but I always thought people were more into novelty. | I think CGR is more into the novelty than the American church in general--I was actually really surprised that the top 3 songs are as new as they are. I also think it depends on how much you beat those songs into the ground when they were new. Once we've introduced a song to the congregation (often 3-4 straight weeks, and maybe a follow-up a few weeks later), we'll back way off, and "regular rotation" becomes 4-6 times a year, probably. |
