I listened to a U2 song yesterday

and at first I thought the lead singer sounded kind of Kevin Max.

Bono was a big influence on Kevin Max's voice.

A lot of singers nowadays are influenced by Bono.

I highly doubt that that was absolutley the first time you've ever heard a U2 song in your whole entire life.

Indeed. You'd also have to avoid a lot of TV, since Beautiful Day was used on all kinds of stuff.
