Help picking out a practice amp

This is what I am looking for.... a small amp, no bigger than 1x12" that has good built in distortion. I dont want to have to buy pedals to get a decent high-gain sound. Right now, I have a line 6 spiderI 212 and I really like the distortion it has, but i just dont have room for it in my cramped apartment, thats why Im tossing around the idea of something new.

The obvious choice would be another line 6 but I thought I would see if I had any other good options. I'm kinda picky when it comes to distortion. Im not a big fan of fuzz, I like thick distortion. My main amp is a 5150II, and obviously Im not going to find a small, cheap amp that comes anything close to that. I just want something small with good distortion. Let the suggestions begin! thanks

The roland cube series amps have decent distortion. There recto model is more defined then a recto lol. There are a plethora of small amps I could suggest but I need to know....

#1 budget?

#2 define your idea of small?

#3 Are you wanting the modeling versatility or is your priority one killer distortion channel?

Another obvious suggestion would be a 5150/6505 combo but its going to be loud for an apartment. Maybe use an attenuator?

You could try the Roland Cube 15, or the Vox Valvetronix counterpart. Of course, there's the Line 6 if you don't like either of those. Personally, I use my PODxt Live with headphones for practice.

My budget is around $200-300. I am looking to sell my line 6, and I have some extra money I can add those funds.

My idea of small is a 1 x 12" amp or smaller. I actually used to own a 5150 combo and it was alot bigger than my current 212 line 6 and about twice the weight.

I will look into the Roland, I don't know much about them. I always categorize roland with keyboards for some reason, so it didnt really cross my mind as a good distortion amp

I think a podxt line would actually probably work. I never really play loud cause Im in a small apartment. I will definetly look into that also. Thanks
